Hillary Takes The Lead

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

wenn-hill-barack.jpg

According to a new Gallup poll, Hillary Clinton has passed ahead of Barack Obama by an impressive 7 points — 49 to 42 percent.

This is the widest gap we've seen in polls between the two Dem presidential nominee wannabees in weeks.

The poll was conducted before Barack's acclaimed race relations speech on Monday.

But, according to Gallup's Jeff Jones, "the initial indications are that the speech has not halted Clinton's gaining momentum as she led by a similar margin in Tuesday night's polling as compared to Monday night's polling."

On another note, looks like John McCain is benefitting from the loooooong and tense Democratic nomination process. Grrrrrrr.

A new Gallup poll also showed McCain leading both Democrats. McCain holds a 4 point lead over Obama and 3 point lead over Clinton.

We don't care who you support. Just register to vote!

    36

Too bad tomorrow isn't the PA primary.

She might've had a chance at getting the Dem ticket. Too bad it's weeks away, which is a hundred years in politics. The Wrightmare will pass over by then and if Obama continues these public addresses, he'll climb straight back up. In the meantime, we the voters are disillusioned with the Democratic party and their inability to settle this, and more and more of us are seeing McCain as the next president.

C'mon dems, get your shit together and get the nominee ASAP! Losing this election to a Republican who aims to continue Bush's regime would tear this country into pieces. Not to mention it would show how incompetent the Democratic party is. Losing an election following a president who has thoroughly drove this economy into the ground and has sacrificed thousands of lives for selfish purposes? An embarrassment to the whole nation.

    Political Memo
Clinton Facing Narrower Path to Nomination
    By ADAM NAGOURNEY

WASHINGTON — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton needs three breaks to wrest the Democratic presidential nomination from Senator Barack Obama in the view of her advisers.

She has to defeat Mr. Obama soundly in Pennsylvania next month to buttress her argument that she holds an advantage in big general election states.

She needs to lead in the total popular vote after the primaries end in June.

    43

Will the Gospel According to Jeremiah Wright sink the Obama candidacy? Not very likely.

Let's start with two basic facts:

    (a) Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) has already won the Democratic nomination. It's over. Regardless of how the remaining primaries and caucuses go, including Michigan and even Florida, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) can never catch Obama in elected delegates. His current lead of 170 pledged delegates will not be overcome no matter what happens. Even if Clinton beats him by 10 points in each of these primaries, he will still lead among elected delegates by over 100. The superdelegates will not override the will of the voters unless Obama is in jail.

I think it is quite interesting that for the whole of Hillary's campaign, her people have been talking about how polls don't matter because her ass was down in all of those polls. Now, interestingly enough, her people are all over this latest poll saying that there is momentum shift happening. Whatever, I think the fact that Obama has the pledged delegate, popular vote and is now more than catching up in superdelegates shows who Americans want as the Democratic nominee. And by the way, Perez, I love how you didn't post Obama's speech on race. You don't post anything but the negative things about Obama. How about you just stay out of it, hmm?

Since Obama is a man of ONLY words, it would seem he would have left his church LONG ago. I never believed he had an agenda until finding out all of this. Now I do believe he has an agenda. And it is a racial agenda to use tax money to advance one race. And I believe that after he brought his white gramma into his so called speech, he actually must have hated her to make her look racist though she is dead and cannot defend herself. He smeared the other candidates in an attempt to make himself look average or ordinary in his hatred of the white half of himself. Too bad. I never really BELIEVED him, but I didn't think he was a scheming liar. Now we know. What a shame. He was the great hope of white guilt everywhere.

He's 170 delegates ahead and Hillary needs to win Pennsylvania by 140% (literally) to have a chance of getting close to Obama.

Seriously this is OVER. She MATHEMATICALLY CANNOT WIN.

Which is why the media only focuses on her when she whines about Michigan, Florida or makes some overtly racist comment.

    72

The poll was taken BEFORE Obama's speech on race (FYI he wrote that speech himself). It's very upsetting to think that people are so quick to judge without looking at the facts. Obama's mother is from Kansas & his father from Kenya. He is NOT muslum. His words on race were more UNIFING than anything. The MEDIA is taking over this election & ruining both candidates. Every time you see Obama on TV, they have him standing with Rev. Wright. Every time they show Clinton, they now show clips from her husband's presidency. Instead of following the issues, people are making quick assumptions based on FEAR. The sad thing is that the media is playing with everyone's minds. This is truly SEPERATING the democratic party. We are seperating OURSELVES by continuing the misjudgement (in our words– for instance on this blog).

  73. jkdfjdkj says – reply to this

    73

The scenario with Rev. Wright is RIDICULOUS. My pastor (Catholic church) would often give homilies that were full of bias, and opinions on moral decisions. I DID NOT agree with him, but he was a great family friend. The POPE himself just added "10 more commandments". Does this mean that because I respect these people, that I am not a good person? I don't think so. We are all connected to people that are not 100% wonderful.

We are just greatful that the media hasn't shown pictures of Monkia Lewinski…or aired old clips of Bill on the stand for impeachment!!! I'm sure that would not be a positive scenario for her campaign.
NO ONE is perfect. The important thing that we need to do is come together as one to UNIFY the nation. I personally don't want to see the nation ruled by BUSH-CLINTON-BUSH-CLINTON. We would have over 30 years of the same two families. Hmmm…democratic society or hierarchy? You decide.
Look at the issues. Then decide who you want for our next president.

How many people do you know that actually voted in this poll? Just because a poll says Clinton is winning does NOT make it true at all- so A+ for making it seem that way. If you notice, Obama has more delegates (about 100 more) than Clinton. So maybe a poll says Clinton is favoured, that's not what the result show- nor is it what is actually happening.

Anything/everything you post about the political election has been false and misleading. Seriously, way to go mentioning Obama's pastor, but failing to note Geraldine Ferraro's racist remarks. Also, good job reporting Obama's response and denunciation of his pastor. If you are going to post political news, at least do it fairly or go back to pointless celebrity posts.

Re: YumYum – How exactly did you come to the conclusion that Obama has a racial agenda? Oh yeah, there is the agenda of wanting a dialogue to take place on an issue that requires dialogue in order to move on from it. There is not one thing that Obama has said or done that would show anyone that he is racist, bigot or someone who does not believe that every American should have and enjoy equal rights in this supposed great country of ours. His pastor says some divisive and "unpatriotic" comments and somehow Obama has a racial agenda to advance black people?? Your logic is quite astonishing. It's people like you who keep this country in the stagnant stage it's been in for a while now…people who do not want to realize that there are problems in this country that should be talked about and resolved so that we can ALL enjoy the promise of what this country is supposed to stand for. May I also point out that the entirety of American race has been about advancing the agenda of one race…take a wild guess as to which race that would be.

It's because he is black. No don't go saying I am saying this because I like him because he is black. I mean look at everything you wrote. It sounds like a racist wrote it. He said his grandmother dispised Black men. She crossed the otherside of the street when she came across them. He also said, he loves her to death even though her comments pierced him in his heart. But you didn't hear that you were so dumb stuck on his color. What has he done for his country? Maybe you should do some damn research before you start talking. LEave this man alone.

  90. obama 08 says – reply to this

    90

Also, it really is mathematically impossible for Clinton to win. She is grasping at straws, playing it dirty, and doing everything in her power to bring Obama down. The only way she CAN win is if the vote goes to the Superdelegates and they choose her- but many have stated that they will go the way of the people (Obama, for the record, has more of the popular vote). Besides, if Clinton did win she would be crushed by McCain. There is too much hate for her in both parties. Consider the only candidate who has the capability to CHANGE the future of our country. Not just for a few years, but a completely new page in the history books.

Another thing. I am sick of people holding Obama responsible for the rantings of a preacher. I don't care if it was the pastor of his church. He is not responsible for what the man says. Also, alot of that footage of the rpeacher was dug up (not even current) to do simply this…cause a scandal. I am sure that you can find questionable people in each one of these candidates pasts (including cheating husbands and politcal scandals). The whole thing makes me sick. I am an intelligent person and am not judging the man based on another man;s actions.

What a racist!!!! If my preacher talked like that, I'd leave!!!!!!!!!!!!! It reminds me of Hitler speaking to his crowds of people. The evil rev. even has propaganda DVDs. Some black people will unite against white weather they are right are wrong, and Barak is one of them. He almost had me fooled. Don't be stupid people.
