I saw Jake (Gyllenhaal) today! It was at a scholarship luncheon for LA Conservation Corps near downtown Los Angeles, and I was surprised to see Jake Gyllenhaal as a special guest presenter. He introduced two of the scholarship winners, both who overcame some crazy ass odds to graduate from high school (one had a crack dealing mother, abusive father, grew up in foster care and was a drug dealer at 15 but has completely turned his life around due to this organization). Jake befriended one of the students while spending time at the LA Conservation Corps researching a role. Oh yeah, Wilmer Valderamma, Rapper Xzhibit and first lady Maria Shriver were there too. Pretty cool, and for a very awesome cause.

      Jake was so gracious to show up at our event. Everyone at the Corps was so honored to have him there. All of our special guests were such inspiration to our scholars! I could not have been happier about how everything turned out.

      It's refreshing to here a story like this. I applaud all those individuals who would take their time and donate it to kids that all to often people in our society would rather dismiss. Also, I had reacd that Mr. Jake Gyllenhaal had been going through some tough times with the death of Heath Ledger. I think Heath would have been happy with him as well….
