    If a cop "asks" you to search your car YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SAY YES!! The only way they can search your car is if they have reasonable suspicion. The cop ASKED her to search the car, she had a choice to say NO. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!

    About 20 years ago, a cop stopped me and some friends coming out of Xxxxxx on a Sunday afternoon after a long weekend of partying. We were not breaking any law except going a couple of MPH over the limit. And in a white van. He saw our tired party garb and knew we were a catch. He asked if we had any "Dope" in the van. I started to laugh (in my head I was saying, "Could you be more specific?" Dope is a word from the 1960's, and could mean anything). My friends shut me up with a swift dirty look. He asked to search the van. We said sure. He found nothing. We went home. All the "dope" was consumed the night before, or hidden very well under the dash.
