This is not one of Dolly's finer moments. Having said that…..she is an amazing talent and people will accept anything she chooses to do. Anyone would be honored to have Dolly sing one of their songs.

A lot of people can't step out of their box and listen to anything but the mindless hip-hop/rap shit that dominates the radio airwaves today. There is a lot of good music that doesn't involve using the word "boo" or "shorty" and doesn't degrade women, glorify violence or brag incessantly about every material thing they have. I'm not a huge country fan but I like Dolly. She is an example of someone who came from nothing, has amazing talent, and managed to become wealthy using her music but she doesn't have to brag about it and write about it in her songs. And, Dolly has been around for a long time, she's still writing and singing and she still has lots of fans who love her and realize what a great entertainer she is. I wonder how many T-Pains, Chris Browns, or Jessica Simpsons will be around for 30 + year careers? Very few, I'd wager.

I may not like country music myself, but Dolly Parton's cover of this song is bright and happy, which is something missing in popular music today. Dolly Parton is an amazing woman and an amazing talent. People in my generation don't have that, we have the Britneys, the Backstreet Boys and the like. Who happily stands up and proclaims that they still listen to the Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC or any of the other bands that dominated the teeny-bopper market in the 1990s? The bands that ruled my childhood were gone by the time I was in high school and are a running gag in college. However, talents like Dolly Parton are still alive and kicking. They have staying power, and, love them or hate them, you have to admire them for the fact that they are still around in a business that treats people like Kleenex.
