She was 12 years old.
The news is especially sad for animal-lover Winfrey, whose Golden Retriever, Gracie, died less than a year ago after choking on a ball.

My cat died of kidney failure this year too, and my heart goes out to Oprah.
So sad…I lost my dog a couple years ago at 10 with kidney failure. It sucks!! He was such a great dog and I know how she is feeling. Very saddd.

My cocker spaniel is 12 years old and is currently suffering from a kidney disease that is apparently prevalent in the breed. It's called hepacutaneous and basically it causes the kidney to change shape and eventually fail. It's very rarely caught by a vet and even less often treated. I feel for you Oprah! I'm terrified of that quickly approaching day.
The dog had a much better than average life. Whatever. Who I feel sorry for are the millions of dogs and cats who are in shelters or are beaten and abused by humans. And also the ones who don't have any kind of home or enough food to keep their little stomachs from aching.
So Sad, Heart goes to the O. Not and O fan but feel bad for anyone who loses a child like that.

How sad! We just lost our dog, Seven last week. Him and two of our other dogs got out and even though they were only out of the yard for about five minutes before we started looking for them…. we couldn't find them. Two came back, the other did not. Long story short, we found him a few miles down in the grass on a four lane road. It's never easy to loose a pet, they become part of your family. Now if we can just get the city to pick him up like they were suppose to last week!!! He isn't in an area we can get to him without putting ourselves in danger of getting hit.
Oprah doesn't care about animals at all. She eats them every day. Pigs are smarter than dogs or cats.
