Still Not Worth Seeing

As we mentioned yesterday, director Oliver Stone is set to film W., a biopic on the life and presidency of George W. Bush, arguably America's worst president ever. And dumbest!
Now that George W. (Josh Broline) and wife Laura (Elizabeth Banks) have been cast, the next step is to fill the roles of the senior Bush and his wife Barbara.
Set to play George Herbert Walker Bush will be James Cromwell, and to play former first lady Barbara will be Ellen Burstyn.
James Cromwell recently made another similar biopic about a political figure. He played Prince Philip in The Queen.
The Stone film was originally going to be called Bush, but filmmakers are now calling it W. It is expected to be available for distribution sometime possibly in November of this year.
We still don't think we'll spend money to watch it. We wouldn't watch even if it were free.
If it were a musical, however, we might be interested in that!

After reading this announcement in other places, I was under the impression that the movie was not meant to be complimentary. From the articles I read, I understood it to be quite the opposite. I think watching a movie chronicling "W's" many, many missteps would be interesting and could help prevent similar things from happening in the future.

No - it is not. It is incorrect.
1) The intelligence community (CIA, NSA, DIA, etc) view, confirmed by the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission Report and the Senate Report of Pre-war Intelligence on Iraq, is that there was NO cooperative effort between Al Qaeda and Hussein and that Saddam Hussein did not support the 9/11 attacks.
2) The 9/11 Commission stated in its report that bin Laden had been sponsoring anti-Saddam Islamists in Iraqi Kurdistan, and sought to attract them into his Islamic army. If you know your history, Saddam and bin Laden were actually ENEMIES. Bin Laden has long considered Saddam Hussein an infidel enemy. Before Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990, Bin Laden warned publicly that the Iraqi dictator had designs on conquering Saudi Arabia. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, Bin Laden offered to assemble his mujahedeen to battle Hussein and protect the Arabian peninsula.
