The Broadway legend lets the audience have it as she takes her curtain call on the opening night of her revival of Gypsy.

As expected, La LuPone has garnered rave reviews.

She should get an award just for her bow!

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE Patti LuPone!!! I say Gypsy the first night of previews (march 3) and she BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN… literally. an air vent fell on someone!! it was INSANE.

    PATTI IS THE TRUE BROADWAY DIVA. SAW THIS SHOW ON MARCH 15TH AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE. NO ONE CAN HOLD A CANDLE TO HER VOICE OR STAGE PRESENCE. ANDREW LLOYD WEBER WAS AN IDIOT REPLACING HER WITH GLENN CLOSE IN SUNSET BOULEVARD WHEN IT CAME TO AMERICA.

    I am going to marry Patti LuPone. She is my idol. I played Reno Sweeney in "Anything Goes" the same part that Patti played. Of course, I will never be as good as her, but she was an inspiration to me during the duration of the show. She is simply amazing.

    Miss Patti LuPone is incredibly fierce. Bitch brought the roof down on the first night of previews, literally. Part of the ceiling fell on the balcony audience while bitch was belting out "Rose's Turn." LOVE HER! Only she could seriously bring down the roof.

    saw her at Ravinia, 3 times last summer, and twice in previews. Patti is more talented than anyone in the biz, and she deserves the recognition she is FINALLY getting. a nice broad too. this generation of kids will never be exposed to the talent she has, because all they care about is packaging. i hope we return to appreciating talent and determination someday soon.
    Patti has never stopped, and thank god for that! i could see her everynight of the week!

    I was there last night for opening. She was beyond fierce. I've seen her numerous times, and I have never seen her as ON as she was last night. They should just give her the Tony for Best Actress now.

    wouldnt it be a wonderful world if we only were exposed to real talent, instead of the reality-tv 'artists' who are all facade and no actual talent? it concerns me that that's all the culture sees, and that mediocre crap is becoming international, as the world gets smaller and more interactive. the outlets and possibilities to access the performances of real talents are just going to get smaller and less accessable, and the Patti's of the world will not be able to succeed. god bless her for loving her craft so much that she never gave up and sold out. i dont think they make them like that anymore. and the voice has only gotten MORE spectacular, and the acting is a rare thing to behold.

    You owe it to yourself to see this production as one of your life experiences.
