In Memoriam

The beautiful and talented Selena's life was cut tragically short thirteen years ago today at the too tender age of 23.

She had so much life ahead of her!

Thankfully, her music lives on. And THIS is one of our favorite Selena songs.

…AND THEN…Jennifer Lopez had to go STEAL her life away too.
Sad. I wish Selena lived and JLO was the one that….u know. I mean, JLO had to go copy her singing voice, her designing clothes, even marry a guy name Chris who is was in her band. JLO the big copycat. Fat fuck.

      Already?
I mean i am brazilian, i heard of her after her tragic death. So sad. And then was that movie with Jennifer Lopez, i started to search things about the real Selena. Sadness.
      The world isn't fair.
And people, please stop comparing her with J.Lo. It's an offense to Selena's memory.

      42

I only found her music shortly after she died. She had a wonderful voice then I saw the movie of her life and it made me cry. She was such a wonderful young person and didn't deserve to go that way. I wish she could still be here today because I think she would be on top of it all. I also think she deserved to be on top of it all unlike some celebs today.

Thank you for posting this, it brought back so many amazing memories. I am from Corpus Christi and as a little girl saw her perform many times. She is unarguably the best Latina artist ever!!

    59. evian says – reply to this

      59

I just read this on her imdb.com page:
"When Marcela was pregnant with Selena, her parents were convinced they were having a boy. The name they had chosen was Marc Anthony. Selena's name was chosen when her mother's roommate had chosen that name for a girl she was gonna have, but she had a boy, thus Selena's name was born"

Marc Anthony with she would be born a man. The same name of J.Lo husband. I just think its a little creepy.

      90

Such a MONUMENTAL loss to music and fans EVERYWHERE!!! Shot down in the infancy of her career. Selena would have become a HUGE star!!! She had just barely gotten started!!! Music, Fashion, and I'm sure acting was right around the corner. Her light and sweet voice have been missed but will never be forgotten. I wish her family comfort today and hope they know her fans still play her music, and think of her more often than not!

    91. amie says – reply to this

      91

I demand a remake of the shiteous movie, Jennnifer Lopez ruined her image!!!
Oh, and last nights broadcasting on Univision, I loved that they played the whole concert, but those people talking in between?!?! I liked the BIG bash they threw for her last year .. or was it on her 10th anniversary? Anyway, if she is still being remembered 13 years later, that says a lot. We love you. By the way, does anyone know what happened to her boutiques? Have they since been closed?

    92. Silvia says – reply to this

Still heart breaking after all this time. I just don't think fans can ever get over her being gone. So many great things were just on the horizon. I think we were just getting a glimpse as to how great she would have become. Such a great heart and good soul…she will always be missed.

We were truly blessed to have her even if it was for a short time.
