ANOTHER Celeb D.U.I. Story

Lori Barbero, a founder of 80's rock band Babes in Toyland, has been charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing her car through her garage and into her house early Monday.

Doh!

Police say her blood-alcohol level was 0.20 percent — more than twice the legal driving limit.

Stay away from a car if you've had anything to drink! Sheesh!

What's so hard about that?????

    They were formed in the 80's, befOre the grunge scene even began to spread widely. Courtney Love actually helped start the band. They were the first big riot grrl/grunge band even before grunge hit. I love KAT BJELLAND!!
    Fontanelle is THE best album!! I saw them at Lolla so long ago… LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Lori is an AMAZING DRUMMER!! If you don't believe me listen to the songs Jungle Train or Sweet 69!! PERFECT example of girl drumming and riot grrrl sound!!!

    He's also trying to make it harder for young people to drive- there are so many rules now, but he's still allowed on the streets
    He's one of the worst parts of Canada- privatizing everything, taking away medical funding and cutting teachers when he first came into power

    Lori Barbero is a dear family friend and the undisputed Amabassador of the Twin Cities Rock and Roll music scene. This makes me sad to see this, but she will handle it and learn from it. Lori is a beloved figure, not only in the Twin Cities but known in the rock and roll community as one of the coolest people you would ever want to know. We love you Lori and so do countless thousands of others around the world.

    A. It is actually very easy to end up drinking & driving, because you are, umm, drunk(duh?) However,in this drunken state one tends to lose logic…and thinks they are "fine" or "ok to drive"….ask anyone who got a DUI last Sat nite

    I lost my brother to a F_ING drunk driver last year. He suffered massive internal injuries before he died on the operating table. My family has been devastated ever since, and my father no longer wants to live. I miss my brother dearly and think of him all the time. This is the most preventable crime. Please think before you do something stupid.

    um, try 90's Perez. Good christ they were the seminal female rock band of the 90's, inspired the whole freaking riot grrrl movement thingie that happened, which was kind of a big deal. If you are wondering who they are, think 'Courtney Love is to Babes in Toyland as gay men are to Madonna', i.e. they are who Courtney ripped her image,and sound from and who influence she stole her career from. Get it ??

    If there is one word in the English language which does not describe Lori it is the word "Bitch".

    This leaves two possibilities,

    A. You are lying and you never knew her during your brief tenure in Mpls.

    or,

    B. You did know her and she was a bitch to you.

    Now, Lori has more friends than anyone I have ever known, period.
    She is also one of the more affable people I have had the pleasure to meet.
    I am not alone in this opinion. She is dearly loved by many.

    So if Lori did not like you, it would clearly indicate that you are one miserable crumb.

    Just to be fair, here… Lori says she didn't drive home. She had gotten a ride home and she was putting the truck in the garage and hit some stuff she had stored there. She didn't put the truck into the house at all.
