At first, with the thriller dance, it was neat. But then you realize that these people are in PRISON and if they didn't do what they were told they would probably be TORTURED. They make these guys practice constantly until they pass out. The ones that pass out are probably shot. How cute is it now?

Re: Shaved Dave – Haaaa. That is so true. Anyone who thinks they are having fun doing this or that it is somekind of rehabilitation exercise don't understand how prisons in the Orient are. They are brutal. Expecially the Phillipines. Humiliation is a very big part of the punishment experience. It's still interesting to watch.

because its their ode to the (corrupt) president of the Philippines which is Gloria Arroyo. yeah they are prisoners and don't know whats happening outside, they thought the president is a hero, but seriously she's not. people are hungry and still poor. Philippines has a very corrupt government. and it all started with the president!

That was one of the most amazing things I have seen in a Long time (besides my own Long-toy). It's not like these men signed up to go to dance school or something. They were thrown together as prisoners and were able to come together and pull that off. They should let them perform in the Summer Olympic opening ceremonies. Unexpectedly harmoneous.

Saving face and protecting the family against humilation is a huge, if not the the biggest priority in Asian/Oriental culture. It is an extreme humilation to have your family "disgraced" by someone. In Japan, if you commit a very heinous crime like murder, rape, etc., you are going to jail. Anything less like drug trafficiking, theft, robbery, etc., they don't go to jail on the first offense, they will make the criminal go to a specially designed place in town and annouce to the public their crime. Then his family and empolyers have to testify for his character. This, in turn, brings great shame on the whole family and associates, at least in their minds. This to them is worse than any punishment. Family pride and everyone behaving themselves and following the rules is a big, big deal to these people. Sooooo–This video is not as cutesy has it may seem. This is the Filipinos way of humiliating these prisoners and bringing shame to their families by releasing the films and letting thems be documented worldwide. Not neccessarily a bad thing, we can all use a little humility and conscieness for our families feelings regarding our actions. But understand the motives. There is a distinct motive involved with this.
