A Prison Break For The Manslaughterer

Filed under: Legal Matters > Z List

lanegarrison__opt.jpg

Some people just seem to get the lucky breaks.

Former Prison Break actor, Lane Garrison, who was sentenced last October to over 3 years of jail time for driving drunk and killing a teenager, may be getting out sooner than expected!

The actor's blood-alcohol level at the time of the accident was 0.20 percent and he also had cocaine in his system.

A source is telling E! News that Garrison could be released as soon as January, due to good behavior.

Barf!!!!!!

After at least three prison transfers, Garrison is said to be a bit more content at his current location in the medium-security Golden State Correctional Facility.

Why'd they have to move him so much?

Well, at his new facility, inmates are able to check out books from the prison library and also play basketball. The source describes it as "by far the most comfortable" place Garrison has been in.

Well, that's good. Keep the killer comfy!

And, to keep himself entertained, Garrison has started to write.

The source adds that Garrison "is an incredible writer, and he is focusing on that now that he can. He said he reached the darkest depths he could imagine and could barely move his body, let alone write something. For the first time now, he has been able to actually see beyond and look into the future."

And just to make him seem more human, the source also adds that Garrison is very distraught over what he did, adding that, "It is depressing, but he is holding on."

Did Lane call E! News himself?????

Grossy gross.

..it really is gross..and if someone has the nerve to say 'give him a break' clearly has NEVER dealt with losing a loved one because of a drunk driver!
That teenagers life will never be restored and the memories her family have are the only thing they have left to hold on too…
It is disgusting knwoing he might get out before serving his full sentence. 3 years wasnt even enough to begin with. We hear since we are young about the consequences of driving drunk and he should of known better. I hate hearing about 'stars' ( i don't even know who he is ) getting away with murder like that. He needs to pay for what he did and I hope he feels depressed for a very long time. I don't feel sorry for him hearing he couldn't move for a long perod of time cuz of the guilt..

3 yrs for KILLING someone? thats all?? shame on the whole system, its ridiculous that just because someone is famous they can get preferrential treatment. "distraught"??? i hope he thinks about the lives he's destroyed of the person he killed and his/her whole family everyday. at least you don't get a reduced sentence on that.

    23

He is not a killer. For god's sake you act like he shot someone. The people in the car with him are just as guilty, why do we forget about that

  24. Mo says – reply to this
    24

Sure…he did a BAD thing. Did the drunk ass kid who died and got in the car with him do a bad thing??? Yes!! Whenever someone dies we all act like they were a saint. Why would that kid get in the car with Lane Garrison after he SAW how much he was drinking? The kid took his OWN life into his hands, gambled, and lost. Lane Garrison is to blame for the accident - that is why he is in jail. But the kid that died made bad decision, after bad decision. He put himself in the situation where he could be hurt and….he was. It is terrible and sad, but the person that died is about 50% responsible for his own death.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND FOR YOURSELF. DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED OUT THERE PEEPS!

He's a good guy. He made a mistake. If Paris H killed someone in her DUI related issues, you'd still be praising her name. Be careful judging him so harsh. There are people out there doing a lot worse, serving a lot less time and sometimes none.

The fact is that our jails are overcrowded and that inmates are routinely given early release due to "good behavior." While Lane's actions were selfish, reckless, and unforgivable, there are criminals who pose a far greater threat to society. His early release may be upsetting, but his spot in prison should me given to the rapists, child molesters, gang leaders, and violent offenders whose incarceration will serve a better purpose.

  28. God says – reply to this
    28

He deserves to spend a few years in jail, but if he gets out early that’s due to a faulty system. If you were in the same situation you’d leave early too.

  29. kimmers says – reply to this
    29

i think this guy is paying quite a lot emotionally for what he did. Can YOU imagine how you would feel if you did that? He will serve his time - people, hardly anyone in America's criminal justice system serves their full time anymore - it's not because he's a celeb. they just don't serve full sentences. here in flint - a lady abandoned her child, starved her, let her live in feces…the little girl died in the house. the mom got a similar sentence and is now up for parole…just a little more than a year later. outrageous? yeah…but that's the way the system works.

hey Perez. keep to what u know. cos politics is not your best area. This guy is human as u are implicating hes not. and everyone makes mistakes and this guy has now seen that he has to turn his life around. too bad he had to kill someone before it happend. he diserves a second chance like everyone else who makes mistakes. should we call everyone who drinks/drugs and drive as not human or what? cos everytime someone do that this could happen…..sometimes some people just gets away and others dont

  32. Aubrey says – reply to this
    32

So I didn't know the guy he killed was in the car with him until someone commented on that. That's completely different than if he had hit someone in another car and killed them. Yes it's still horrible and he still did a horrible/stupid thing but the guy with him knew he was drunk and probably was drunk himself and chose to get in the car with him. That doesn't make him a completely innocent person who lost their life because of someone else's actions. It was because of both of their actions.

Remember everyone if you want to commit a crime go to California, because you won't do much time or anytime. Ask OJ, Robert Blake, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, or anyone with money.

First of all, anyone who gets 3 years will only do 16 months. He is not special. He is being treated like every other inmate at a California state prison. Can you imagine how crowded the prisons would get if everyone did all of their time with this stupid ass 3 strikes law???

Life for a life I say. He should rot in jail along with all the other killers, drug dealers and kiddie fiddlers…..

He'll be out soon and will be able to get his life together (don't think career so much) - how about the family of the person killed in the accident? They will never ever get over it.

  42. Lauren (A) says – reply to this
    42

Oh P give him a break..he obviously feels horrible about what he did and it isn't like he's purposely throwing his weight around trying to get off.

Would you be happier if he were sitting in prison doing absolutely nothing?
Life goes on..he can't be expected to always and forever show outwardly the horrible feeling he's going to struggle with internally for the rest of his life.

  43. oh baby! says – reply to this
    43

i have lost a very dear friend due to drunk driving…..i do think the man that killed my friend deserves the punishment her received…this case however is different…the kid that was killed made just as many poor choices as lane did that night. lane's punishment goes far beyond our judicial system. this is something he can never forget.

  44. huh? says – reply to this
    44

So, let me get this straight. When this first happened everyone was screaming for his head. Now, everyone says let him go. Does ANYBODY in the country stick to their convictions? Believe me, I'm all for him getting out, this was a terrible accident…an ACCIDENT. There are millions of actual intentional murderers out there that should be taking his place in the pen, so I'm all for letting him out. I just don't want to see people have a bowel movement over the first picture of him as a free man with a smile on his face or trying to get his life back in order. LET IT GO!!!

Even though drinking and driving is unforgivable, it's no uncommon for people to do stupid things and not think of the consequences. This guy does not deserve to be in jail, the pain he is suffering due to his actions is far worse than any prison sentence. I have a friend who was sober and hit a drunk girl as she stumbled into the street. This happened almost 15 years ago and he still has nightmares about it. Perez you need to get over yourself and I really need to quit coming to this site and feeding into your ego.

So let me get this correct, Garrison saw this 17 year old "kid" in a gas station, plotted to go to the party and get him in his car and then drive the car into the tree? Did he use a gun to do all this?
It was an accident! How about the 'kids" family accepting that their son saw a celebrity and befriended him, got into his car because he wanted to be friends with a celebrity and then they had an accident. Lane never planned on any of that to happen! That's why it's called an ACCIDENT! Lane has to live with this all his life.
You should be ashamed of yourself and a little worried about Karma because YOU could very well be in the same spot and I'm sure there's a lot more people who would LOVE to see you in a bad situation! Look how many of your "friends" showed for your birthday party! NOT MANY!
Why are you so obsessed with hating this guy? Does he remind you of the popular guys in high school that you hated or something? Did they call you fatty or something? Give it a rest dude.

At least he seems truly remorseful. He doesn't seem to have the typical Hollywood sense of entitlement and I doubt he'll ever drive under the influence again. It seems to me that he is one of the only celebrities to ever take any real responsibility for his actiions.

screw the idiots who say it was the dead kid's fault. my 20 year old brother just died in a vehicle with a drunk driver and I want that kid to pay. Being in the public eye, this actor setting an example. That it's not so bad to drink and drive. That if you kill someone in your carelesness that it's okay. My brother was 50% to blame??? I'll never see my baby brother again. The kid who killed him's sister can't say the same thing. If you don't know shut your mouth

It was an accident, he didn't plan on killing anyone. He is not a murderer, a murder is a killing with intention, which did not happen.
But he is a killer, onetime thing i hope, so that does deserve a sentence.

YOu know I understand that he did something incredibly stupid which ended terribly…..but CMON people make fucken Dumb ass mistakes all the time and you cant tell me that you have never partied and made the dumb decision to drive…ALOT of people do it.. GOOD PEOPLE… CELEBRITIES DO IT ALL THE TIME.. it doesnt make them fucken killers….they just get lucky that nothing shitty happens! But this Kid actually made a bad judgement and now has to live with it and is being punished.. I think he deserves a second chance at a good life… The people he was with could have made the decision not to get in the car with him. YOU never know he could genuinely be Very sorry for what he did and what else can you ask someone to do but to live with that on their shoulders till the day they die. POINT is give the kid a break.. i wouldnt call him a KILLER…. there is a difference!

What does putting the guy in jail solve? It obviously isn't a deterrent when people are buzzed. They aren't thinking. If the cops weren't dealing with paparazzi, maybe they would have caught him before the accident. Or maybe the dead girl should have driven better.

As a person who has a DUI (biggest mistake ever), I know how this guy feels. I made a huge mistake that will not be repeated. How much is enough punishment? What happened was an accident, and all of you sanctimonious assholes who have had a few cocktails and gotten behind the wheel??–you just never got caught. Everybody fucks up. Everybody deserves another chance. If he repeats, then go nuts with the jail time. Otherwise, give him the benefit of the doubt. Kid got in the car–knew prolly knew that Lane was not sober (or was too drunk to make that call for himself….) A lot of us have been there. We were just luckier than Setian.

I dont think he is a killer. He made an awful decision that he must face for the rest of his life. He did not go out that night with intent to kill someone. So you can not call him a killer. I believe he should do his time but frankly they let child molesters out you are suprised he would be released early? I would prefer him over a molester. I also have to say that I agree that the other who got in the car, the others who where drinking or high, the others who asked him to buy alchol are to blaim as well. Everyone is responsiable for the actions this wasnt a one man job. It is a shame someone lost their life. I feel for the family. You can only punish someone so much for an accident.
