A Prison Break For The Manslaughterer

| Filed under: Legal MattersZ List

lanegarrison__opt.jpg

Some people just seem to get the lucky breaks.

Former Prison Break actor, Lane Garrison, who was sentenced last October to over 3 years of jail time for driving drunk and killing a teenager, may be getting out sooner than expected!

The actor's blood-alcohol level at the time of the accident was 0.20 percent and he also had cocaine in his system.

A source is telling E! News that Garrison could be released as soon as January, due to good behavior.

Barf!!!!!!

After at least three prison transfers, Garrison is said to be a bit more content at his current location in the medium-security Golden State Correctional Facility.

Why'd they have to move him so much?

Well, at his new facility, inmates are able to check out books from the prison library and also play basketball. The source describes it as "by far the most comfortable" place Garrison has been in.

Well, that's good. Keep the killer comfy!

And, to keep himself entertained, Garrison has started to write.

The source adds that Garrison "is an incredible writer, and he is focusing on that now that he can. He said he reached the darkest depths he could imagine and could barely move his body, let alone write something. For the first time now, he has been able to actually see beyond and look into the future."

And just to make him seem more human, the source also adds that Garrison is very distraught over what he did, adding that, "It is depressing, but he is holding on."

Did Lane call E! News himself?????

Grossy gross.

..it really is gross..and if someone has the nerve to say 'give him a break' clearly has NEVER dealt with losing a loved one because of a drunk driver!
That teenagers life will never be restored and the memories her family have are the only thing they have left to hold on too…
It is disgusting knwoing he might get out before serving his full sentence. 3 years wasnt even enough to begin with. We hear since we are young about the consequences of driving drunk and he should of known better. I hate hearing about 'stars' ( i don't even know who he is ) getting away with murder like that. He needs to pay for what he did and I hope he feels depressed for a very long time. I don't feel sorry for him hearing he couldn't move for a long perod of time cuz of the guilt..
    ———————–

    BULLSHIT!!!!!!

  20. shame on you says – reply to this

    20

3 yrs for KILLING someone? thats all?? shame on the whole system, its ridiculous that just because someone is famous they can get preferrential treatment. "distraught"??? i hope he thinks about the lives he's destroyed of the person he killed and his/her whole family everyday. at least you don't get a reduced sentence on that.

  21. JEN says – reply to this

    21

    Re: maggie

HE DIDN"T PAY!!!! CLEARLY YOU HAVE NEVER SUFFERED A DEATH CUZ OF A DRUNK DRIVER! I LOST MY MOM AND MY DAD 5 YEARS AGO N THANK GOD THE GUY IS STILL IN JAIL.

  22. truth says – reply to this

    22

ah did not the dude that played inspecter gadget get off with sam thing? and we suffer for every day he is out, I know his name but can't bring myself to say it

  23. TQ says – reply to this

    23

He is not a killer. For god's sake you act like he shot someone. The people in the car with him are just as guilty, why do we forget about that

  24. Mo says – reply to this

    24

Sure…he did a BAD thing. Did the drunk ass kid who died and got in the car with him do a bad thing??? Yes!! Whenever someone dies we all act like they were a saint. Why would that kid get in the car with Lane Garrison after he SAW how much he was drinking? The kid took his OWN life into his hands, gambled, and lost. Lane Garrison is to blame for the accident - that is why he is in jail. But the kid that died made bad decision, after bad decision. He put himself in the situation where he could be hurt and….he was. It is terrible and sad, but the person that died is about 50% responsible for his own death.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND FOR YOURSELF. DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED OUT THERE PEEPS!

  25. Perezhavesomeclass says – reply to this

    25

He's a good guy. He made a mistake. If Paris H killed someone in her DUI related issues, you'd still be praising her name. Be careful judging him so harsh. There are people out there doing a lot worse, serving a lot less time and sometimes none.

  26. Chrissy says – reply to this

    26

He was probably moved so much cause he was probably someone's BITCH, just like in Prison Break.

  27. ldytrojan says – reply to this

    27

The fact is that our jails are overcrowded and that inmates are routinely given early release due to "good behavior." While Lane's actions were selfish, reckless, and unforgivable, there are criminals who pose a far greater threat to society. His early release may be upsetting, but his spot in prison should me given to the rapists, child molesters, gang leaders, and violent offenders whose incarceration will serve a better purpose.

  28. God says – reply to this

    28

He deserves to spend a few years in jail, but if he gets out early that’s due to a faulty system. If you were in the same situation you’d leave early too.

  29. kimmers says – reply to this

    29

i think this guy is paying quite a lot emotionally for what he did. Can YOU imagine how you would feel if you did that? He will serve his time - people, hardly anyone in America's criminal justice system serves their full time anymore - it's not because he's a celeb. they just don't serve full sentences. here in flint - a lady abandoned her child, starved her, let her live in feces…the little girl died in the house. the mom got a similar sentence and is now up for parole…just a little more than a year later. outrageous? yeah…but that's the way the system works.

  30. Cuntswello/Cumswallow says – reply to this

    30

I'll do his time! I would love to be in there with all those hunks using me for their pleasure. I hate him, I am soooo jealous.

  31. lilli says – reply to this

    31

hey Perez. keep to what u know. cos politics is not your best area. This guy is human as u are implicating hes not. and everyone makes mistakes and this guy has now seen that he has to turn his life around. too bad he had to kill someone before it happend. he diserves a second chance like everyone else who makes mistakes. should we call everyone who drinks/drugs and drive as not human or what? cos everytime someone do that this could happen…..sometimes some people just gets away and others dont

  32. Aubrey says – reply to this

    32

So I didn't know the guy he killed was in the car with him until someone commented on that. That's completely different than if he had hit someone in another car and killed them. Yes it's still horrible and he still did a horrible/stupid thing but the guy with him knew he was drunk and probably was drunk himself and chose to get in the car with him. That doesn't make him a completely innocent person who lost their life because of someone else's actions. It was because of both of their actions.

  33. Joe says – reply to this

    33

He's not a killer. He was involved in an accident that was not intentional. Give the guy a break.

  34. Lenny says – reply to this

Remember everyone if you want to commit a crime go to California, because you won't do much time or anytime. Ask OJ, Robert Blake, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, or anyone with money.

  35. you know nothing says – reply to this

    35

First of all, anyone who gets 3 years will only do 16 months. He is not special. He is being treated like every other inmate at a California state prison. Can you imagine how crowded the prisons would get if everyone did all of their time with this stupid ass 3 strikes law???

  36. dave says – reply to this

    36

If there is anyone in Hollywood who is truly sorry, it is him. Even during sentencing he was in tears for the victims family. He really knows the gravity of what he's done.

  38. VV says – reply to this

He made a mistake, like we all do, and is paying for it. Why should he not get out early for good behavior like all others with good behavior do?? Because he is famous??? BULLSHIT

  39. songbird says – reply to this

    39

Come on.. Everyone deserves a second chance. He's punished enough for life because of what he has done. Leave him alone.

  40. Bryan says – reply to this

    40

Just so you know, my roommate in college was killed by a drunk driver as he walked up our driveway, and the girl was given no jail time, just probation. So he actually did get a harsh sentence.

  41. ange says – reply to this

    41

Life for a life I say. He should rot in jail along with all the other killers, drug dealers and kiddie fiddlers…..

He'll be out soon and will be able to get his life together (don't think career so much) - how about the family of the person killed in the accident? They will never ever get over it.

  42. Lauren (A) says – reply to this

    42

Oh P give him a break..he obviously feels horrible about what he did and it isn't like he's purposely throwing his weight around trying to get off.

Would you be happier if he were sitting in prison doing absolutely nothing?
Life goes on..he can't be expected to always and forever show outwardly the horrible feeling he's going to struggle with internally for the rest of his life.

  43. oh baby! says – reply to this

    43

i have lost a very dear friend due to drunk driving…..i do think the man that killed my friend deserves the punishment her received…this case however is different…the kid that was killed made just as many poor choices as lane did that night. lane's punishment goes far beyond our judicial system. this is something he can never forget.

  44. huh? says – reply to this

    44

So, let me get this straight. When this first happened everyone was screaming for his head. Now, everyone says let him go. Does ANYBODY in the country stick to their convictions? Believe me, I'm all for him getting out, this was a terrible accident…an ACCIDENT. There are millions of actual intentional murderers out there that should be taking his place in the pen, so I'm all for letting him out. I just don't want to see people have a bowel movement over the first picture of him as a free man with a smile on his face or trying to get his life back in order. LET IT GO!!!

  49. dme says – reply to this

    49

Even though drinking and driving is unforgivable, it's no uncommon for people to do stupid things and not think of the consequences. This guy does not deserve to be in jail, the pain he is suffering due to his actions is far worse than any prison sentence. I have a friend who was sober and hit a drunk girl as she stumbled into the street. This happened almost 15 years ago and he still has nightmares about it. Perez you need to get over yourself and I really need to quit coming to this site and feeding into your ego.

  50. Anonymous says – reply to this

    50

So let me get this correct, Garrison saw this 17 year old "kid" in a gas station, plotted to go to the party and get him in his car and then drive the car into the tree? Did he use a gun to do all this?
It was an accident! How about the 'kids" family accepting that their son saw a celebrity and befriended him, got into his car because he wanted to be friends with a celebrity and then they had an accident. Lane never planned on any of that to happen! That's why it's called an ACCIDENT! Lane has to live with this all his life.
You should be ashamed of yourself and a little worried about Karma because YOU could very well be in the same spot and I'm sure there's a lot more people who would LOVE to see you in a bad situation! Look how many of your "friends" showed for your birthday party! NOT MANY!
Why are you so obsessed with hating this guy? Does he remind you of the popular guys in high school that you hated or something? Did they call you fatty or something? Give it a rest dude.

At least he seems truly remorseful. He doesn't seem to have the typical Hollywood sense of entitlement and I doubt he'll ever drive under the influence again. It seems to me that he is one of the only celebrities to ever take any real responsibility for his actiions.

  55. dead boys sister says – reply to this

    55

screw the idiots who say it was the dead kid's fault. my 20 year old brother just died in a vehicle with a drunk driver and I want that kid to pay. Being in the public eye, this actor setting an example. That it's not so bad to drink and drive. That if you kill someone in your carelesness that it's okay. My brother was 50% to blame??? I'll never see my baby brother again. The kid who killed him's sister can't say the same thing. If you don't know shut your mouth

  56. Give the guy a break says – reply to this

He will pay for his actions for the rest of his life. I believe that he deserves a 2nd chance at life.

  57. Al Gore says – reply to this

    57

Soo, How's the kid he killed doin'???? That's what I thought!! Rot in hell killer!!!!

  58. Dani says – reply to this

    58

It was an accident, he didn't plan on killing anyone. He is not a murderer, a murder is a killing with intention, which did not happen.
But he is a killer, onetime thing i hope, so that does deserve a sentence.

  59. Misty says – reply to this

    59

YOu know I understand that he did something incredibly stupid which ended terribly…..but CMON people make fucken Dumb ass mistakes all the time and you cant tell me that you have never partied and made the dumb decision to drive…ALOT of people do it.. GOOD PEOPLE… CELEBRITIES DO IT ALL THE TIME.. it doesnt make them fucken killers….they just get lucky that nothing shitty happens! But this Kid actually made a bad judgement and now has to live with it and is being punished.. I think he deserves a second chance at a good life… The people he was with could have made the decision not to get in the car with him. YOU never know he could genuinely be Very sorry for what he did and what else can you ask someone to do but to live with that on their shoulders till the day they die. POINT is give the kid a break.. i wouldnt call him a KILLER…. there is a difference!

  60. shmelz says – reply to this

    60

i totally agree that he should be punished
but he seems like a nice guy
    who messed up
    big
but hes not an evil person
and he doesnt have enough star power to be treated differently
the whole situation is pretty ironic

  61. Kevin says – reply to this

    61

What does putting the guy in jail solve? It obviously isn't a deterrent when people are buzzed. They aren't thinking. If the cops weren't dealing with paparazzi, maybe they would have caught him before the accident. Or maybe the dead girl should have driven better.

  62. jayden james says – reply to this

    62

Perez where is your compassion and TOLERANCE! I bet every person who posted here could have been in the same boat. Who hasn't driven when they shouldn't because of drinking too much. I don't do that anymore, but certainly in my younger, stupid days.

  64. Rach says – reply to this

    64

As a person who has a DUI (biggest mistake ever), I know how this guy feels. I made a huge mistake that will not be repeated. How much is enough punishment? What happened was an accident, and all of you sanctimonious assholes who have had a few cocktails and gotten behind the wheel??–you just never got caught. Everybody fucks up. Everybody deserves another chance. If he repeats, then go nuts with the jail time. Otherwise, give him the benefit of the doubt. Kid got in the car–knew prolly knew that Lane was not sober (or was too drunk to make that call for himself….) A lot of us have been there. We were just luckier than Setian.

  65. Wentworth Miller says – reply to this

    65

OMG PEREZ…GIVE HIM A BREAK, HE MADE ONE BIG MISTAKE AND IS PAYING FOR IT, LIKE YOUR MOM WHEN SHE HAD YOU. YOU MAKE HIM SOUND LIKE HE STABBED SOMEBODY TO DEATH. 68. rose says – reply to this

    68

I dont think he is a killer. He made an awful decision that he must face for the rest of his life. He did not go out that night with intent to kill someone. So you can not call him a killer. I believe he should do his time but frankly they let child molesters out you are suprised he would be released early? I would prefer him over a molester. I also have to say that I agree that the other who got in the car, the others who where drinking or high, the others who asked him to buy alchol are to blaim as well. Everyone is responsiable for the actions this wasnt a one man job. It is a shame someone lost their life. I feel for the family. You can only punish someone so much for an accident.

STFU Perez! If anyone has shown utter remorse and humility for their crimes, it's this kid. He was so very wrong and stupid, but he has paid, is paying and will continue to pay for his crime for the rest of his life. He had a shitty, abusive childhood with no proper parenting or model to show how a mature adult behaves. It was dumb, it was wrong, but I refuse to condemn him for the rest of his life, and you need to back the hell off you dumb turd.

first of all, it is a shame what happened-but the truth is the guy that was killed knowingly got in a car with a drunk driver. no one put a gun to his head and made him get in the car, he did it of his own free will. It was just bad judgement on everyones part-one that unfortnately ended in tragedy.

Re: Jen – You know what's REALLY gross? The kind of holier-than-thou morality meter you use to measure whether or not he has paid his dues. Shame on you and shame on Perez for spreading hate, vitriol and vengeance. Did you know that the passenger killed was allegedly known for dealing drugs? They were ALL partying. That doesn't justify what happened but you should save your bloodlust for criminals who act with intent - child molesters, rapists, serial killers, etc. The only thing that makes me "barf" is the idea of Perez Hilton as some kind of moral compass for the ignorant and stupid.

Hey … at LEAST THE GUY PLED GUILTY!!! How many other celebrity fuck-ups out there do that?!?!

Not even Ms. Ritchie who was DRIVING THE WRONG WAY on a freeway! It was only LUCK that she didn't kill someone too.

We should be giving props to someone who admitted guilt and is doing his time. There but by the grace of God … who else hasn't driven drunk at least once and thanked God that you made it home????

  75. CryMeARiver says – reply to this

    75

Re: Jen – Keep in mind that he had a few months of time that he had served prior to being sentenced. In addition, he was in Chino at first, which is one of the tougher prisons that someone could be in. I understand that he killed someone by driving drunk but only big time sicko murderers, rapists, serial killers and the like need to be in Chino.

The only reason that he is getting off early is for good behavior. If you show that you are working to get your life back on track and are behaving then you should have the chance to get out early. Our prison systems are WAY overcrowded as it is because of worthless sentencing for drug related crimes.

  76. FUCK PEREZ says – reply to this

GOOD. im sure he feels more than horrible. and fuck you perez, you dont know anything. theres no doubt in my mind that he has suffered enough for his mistake. it was ONLY a mistake, yes there were lives involved, but he never would have knowingly done such a thing. FUCK YOU PEREZ.

I think it's good for him that he's being realeased earlier. I think he's a good guy, only he made a terrible mistake, I'm not trying to justify it but the guys who was killed with him in the car made a big mistake too by stepping in the car with him. It's not like Lane Garrison took a gun and shot someone intentially. I think he got a good punishment, also concidering he'll have to deal with this the rest of his life. I'm really sorry for the family too, it's terrible to loose someone.

How terribly sad that this distraught, depressed, nearly paraplegic, skilled writer has to deal with so many unsettling relocations and spend so much time in such uncomfortable surroundings! It makes my heart glow to hear that he is holding on, despite how close he came to his own unimagined dark abyss, and will soon be set free from this hell he is so strongly enduring. How uplifting and faith instilling in our beautiful justice system that this well-behaved man will so quickly be welcomed back into the fold of humanity with his self-written emotionally stirring biography, which will no doubt allow him a modest financial gain with which he can once again use to drink, coke up, and kill some else's son, brother, friend.

will live with it for the rest of his life. He is not running from what he did,
and what makes you so perfect to continue running him down.
It seems Hilary forgave and dealt with Bill, but you guys continue to be
judge and jury on him as well. Just an example of so many people getting
on, but "reporters" keep rubbing it in their faces.
Give this kid a break as he'll have a lot to sort out once he does get out.
While were at it, why are you trashing Bruce Willis's daughter. What has
she done to you, that you have to be so spiteful??

Gee Perez, give a heart or maybe find yours without such spiteful comments
on people you don't even know.

Re: TQ – How could you say he is not a killer? Yes, he is. Dead is dead, whether it's caused by a bullet or a car or something else. And he was dumb enough to get in that car and drive. He is a killer.

It's very common for prisoners to be moved many, many times while they are incarcerated.

You shouldn't judge people like that. Life takes a lot of turns and you never know what could happen to you or someone close to you. If you think the legal system is flawed, go into law and try to change it or write a blog about keeping kids off drugs and couseling teens with emotional problems. Join MADD. This pointing fingers is kind of pointless.

PEREZ, SHUT THE FUCK UP. HE IS DOING HIS TIME AND IT'S NOT HIS FAULT THEY ARE RELEASING HIM FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR. YOU HAPPEN TO LIVE IN A STATE WITH FUCKED UP PRISON FACILITIES. IF YOU ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT IT THEN GO FIX THE SYSTEM YOU FUCKING FAT ASS IDIOT. THIS MAN IS NOT A MONSTER AND I AM SURE IF IT WAS YOU, YOU'D BE CRYING TO BE RELEASED. ACTUALLY PROBABLY NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE A PIGGY BOTTOM AND SOMEONE ACTUALLY MIGHT FUCK YOU IN PRISON.

he's not a killer! he caused an accident! an in the process of htat accident someone got killed!

it's bad enough he was drunk, of course… but he did not intend when he got into his car to kill someone or to cause someone harm… at least i think he did not…

he's paying the hefty price for his reckless behavior…. and his career is over… for the rest of his life he will have to live with this on his conscience!

if there's someone that has a chance to get out of prison and to start over it him… but if guys like you perez keep on dragging him back into this you rob him of the only chance to start over….! i hope you know how much power you have and that your power easily destroys people or let's them earn a lot of money… you certainly earn money with all this… so please never forget to use your power with the masses wisely…!!!

Yes. he killed someone. It was a horrible accident and I would bet my right arm he has learned a lesson. Taking away his life won't bring back the teenager that died. While we're at it, perhaps we should ask where the parents of these children were when they were out at all hours drinking and drugging? yOU KNOW it wasn't their first time. Maybe they think keeping him in jail will lessen their own guilt? As far as I'm concerned they should be locked up as well. It's 10 O'Clock, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE???

How is it that this guy that killed a teenager (by accident–of being drunk and high off of cocaine) may get less than a year in jail but Michael Vick kills dogs and will be in jail for like 3 years.

Opps, I forgot, DOGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN PEOPLE!

I think that its absolutly ridiculous that people would actually stick up for this guy, saying that he's suffering enough with his guilt….What the hell is wrong with people? Lane Garrison was a grown man when he decided to get behind the wheel drunk. Yes, the person in the car with him that got killed was also responsible, but we are all forgetting that this "teenager" was not an adult and was drinking allegally with the help of Lane Garrison. 3 years is not enough time for taking someones life, ontop of it he gets out early. People are saying it was a mistake, but a very large mistake, regardless people should be held accountable for their actions! Its ridiculous to know that I have to be a celebrity to get away with breaking the law!……Also, someone mentioned Paris Hilton… If she killed someone drunk drivingshe should have to do the time too, just like she didnt do enough time for the drunk driving charges she was arrested for.
