Britain's Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth and grandpa to Harry and William, was hospitalized on Friday with a chest infection.
The 86-year-old prince was taken to King Edward VII's Hospital in London for assessment and all of his weekend engagements have been canceled.
No further details were available.

That's why pneumonia is called "the old man's friend", because even with antibiotics, it is a common cause of rapid and relatively painless death in the elderly. And he IS elderly. And lucky to have lived a priviledged life. It might not get him now, but it'll get him eventually.

Philip is not king because he is of greek descent. The current Queen is the daughter of King George an he had no sons. The Queen and Phillip are actually distantly related. If the marriage wasn't approved the Queen would have been forced to abdicate the throne. If the Queen died then Charles bcomes king not Phillip.

Some people give out tons of stupid comments. For the record, I do wish that Prince Philip will get well soon. This is a person who is real. Just try imagining an 86-year old Simon Cowell and he would probably be saying similar things as Prince Philip's gaffes. For the sake of those ignorant people out there, Prince Charles will be king when Queen Elizabeth II dies. Prince Philip himself is in line to the British throne at around 300+. He was born as a Prince of Greece and Denmark. He renounced that title in order to marry the then Princess Elizabeth of UK. Upon their marriage, he became the Duke of Edinburgh and subsequently prince consort when Elizabeth assumed the throne.
To people thinking Diana is a saint wake up! That woman might be a good person but she thinks of herself as a celebrity. At least Prince Philip has the gall to speak for himself amidst criticism. I actually pity the royal family for being embarassed by Diana's behavior while cavorting with her men and by being tricked by her. For those who haven't got any clue on who Prince philip is, try searching his name on the net and see for yourself that he is a far more interesting individual than Diana could ever be! I would actually prefer to live in a place ruled by the British Royal Family than being dictated by the Castros of Cuba, enslaved by the Kims of North Korea, stolen by the Arroyos of the Philippines, oppressed by the Sauds of Saudi Arabia, scandalized by the Royal Family of Brunei or embarassed by the Bushes of USA.
