Just by being herself, the Canadian actress is an inspiration to young girls (and boys) out there everywhere.

We are so proud of her back home in Halifax (you should seriously come here — you would love the downtown scene and the people). It is wonderful for young girls to have a positive role model. As the mother of an 11 year old girl, I am absolutely thrilled that my daughter looks up to Ellen — she loves her fashion sense; her humour; her amazing talent; and the fact that she is so proud of her Canadian roots!!

Re: fg – maybe you should calm the fuck down. go see the movie. it isn't promoting teen pregnancy. there is no point in the movie where they make her seem happy about it. more often than not she is freaking out about it. if anything it shows that at times "a garbage dump of a situation" can turn out okay. she gives the baby to someone who wanted/needed it. the movie has an awesome ending that (if you have a soul) you can appreciate. i am not trying to start something or be a bitch, just saying.
