Former Saturday Night Live star, Rachel Dratch, is feeling the pain of not finding any work.
Ever since Dratch left SNL, her career has not been the same. She was even subsequently replaced on shitcom 30 Rock, which was supposed to be a starring vehicle for her!
When asked what she's been up to at a recent screening of Smart People, she responded, “Maybe you can tell me. I know you’re supposed to come up with fake stuff you’re doing. But honestly, I’m not doing much.”
Ouch!
And to keep her down even more, last month's issue of Vanity Fair listed its cover story of women in comedy. It featured a dozen of the top female comedians, however, it did not include Dratch.
Her reaction, she said, was, “Dude, that was a dark day. I was like, 'Oh, there’s everyone I worked with.' It’s starting to get old. I’m starting to go crazy. I’m ready for a job.”
As for her next gig, she's not picky at all it seems. “I’d work in a black-box theater company at this point. I’d work with George W.”

Good for her! Honesty rocks and so does Rache Dratch! By not bullshitting anyone, and making the truth known, the word is now REALLY out there that she's available and that awareness will translate into conversations, which will translate into offers. I have always like Rachel Dratch, but my respect for her just increased ten-fold!

I always thought she was one of the best parts of SNL and was disappointed she didn't get to do 30 Rock. Tina Fey's "exasperated mommy figure" schtick gets old fast. I hope she finds something worthy of her talents so we get to see her again!

I was really surprised that Rachel Dratch wasn't on that Vanity Fair cover. I honestly thought that she was one of the funniest castmembers on SNL. I think that Tina Fey, while obviously a brilliant comedic writer, is not necessarily a laugh out loud funny comedic actress like Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler and Cheri Oteri.
