Former Saturday Night Live star, Rachel Dratch, is feeling the pain of not finding any work.
Ever since Dratch left SNL, her career has not been the same. She was even subsequently replaced on shitcom 30 Rock, which was supposed to be a starring vehicle for her!
When asked what she's been up to at a recent screening of Smart People, she responded, “Maybe you can tell me. I know you’re supposed to come up with fake stuff you’re doing. But honestly, I’m not doing much.”
Ouch!
And to keep her down even more, last month's issue of Vanity Fair listed its cover story of women in comedy. It featured a dozen of the top female comedians, however, it did not include Dratch.
Her reaction, she said, was, “Dude, that was a dark day. I was like, 'Oh, there’s everyone I worked with.' It’s starting to get old. I’m starting to go crazy. I’m ready for a job.”
As for her next gig, she's not picky at all it seems. “I’d work in a black-box theater company at this point. I’d work with George W.”

Rachel Dratch is hialrious and should have her own sitcom. Lorne Michaels and NBC totally screwed her over 30 ROCK. If they didn't want her to star - after they hired her to do just that - then they should have created a supporting role on the show for her.
And SNL's Cheri Oteri should be working alot more, too. She is wonderful, and why Will Ferrell doesn't put her in some of his movies is beyond me.

I just saw Rachel at Upright Citizen's Brigade theatre on Sunday in ASSCAT 3000 with Seth Myers and Amy Pohler. She looked great and was having a great time doing improv with everyone!

wow…how weird, I was just telling someone earlier today how she was one of my favourite cast memebers ever and was wondering what she had been up to after 30 rock. i guess there isn't much to catch up on, poor lass. i wish her well, she is truly brilliant.
