Why you gotta be so cruel, Clooney????
As we mentioned earlier, E.R. is going off the air next year after its 15th season.
However, according to reports, all the docs won't be back full time for the final season.
Maura Tierney (Dr. Abby Lockhart) will exit after a few episodes, and Goran Visnjic (Dr. Lockhart's love, Luka Kovac) also will leave the show early next season.
Mekhi Phifer has not yet signed a new contract, although castmates John Stamos, Parminder Nagra and Linda Cardellini will be back.
E.R. returns Tuesday night for six spring episodes. However, there's some good news for the abbreviated season! The Sopranos' Aida Turturro and Oscar nominee Hal Holbrook are set to guest star.
NBC plans 19 finale episodes next season, repeat-free, with the last bow taking place in late February.

this show should have ended when that bald doctor with the brain tumor died about 5 years ago — THAT WAS THEIR BIG BANG — AND THEY BLEW IT.

I REMEMBER WATCHING THE VERY FIRST EPISODE OF ER IN 1994 AND I HAVE TO THIS DATE NEVER MISSED A SINGLE EPISODE.
GEORGE CLOONEY, NOAH WYLE, ALEX KINGSTON, ERIC LASALLE AND MY FAVOURITE ACTOR ON THE SHOW, ANTHONY EDWARDS, OWE EVERYTHING TO ER.

Soooo sad!! This is my favorite show. I've been watching it since I was little. This show is partly the reason I'm in Nursing school right now. I'll miss it.

Good riddance. ER jumped the shark about 10 years ago when Clooney left. It's been on life support since.
I have never in my life seen a greater show. I have seen all of the 300+ episodes of this great amazing show and I can't believe it is finally going off the air. what upsets me most is how abby and luca will be leaving early. this sucks but to make this series have an awesome ending would be if George Clooney and Julianne Marquilles and Noah Wyle come back. 15 years of ER is not enough
I love ER and will be sad to see it go, but what about Las Vegas ending without a season finale!!! After five years and a major cliffhanger and a entertainment director who calls the shows on ABC gay even though he is the exec producer on Ugly Betty. SAVE LAS VEGAS

Ever since it first came out ER has been one of my favorite shows and I've LOVED ALL the characters. It would be the ultimate fan tribute to have all the cast members back for the season finale (because, let's face it, that's really what all the die-hard ER fans really want to see anyways. A nice little happily every after resolution for all their favorite characters, past and present). It almost seems like a slap in the face to really loyal fans that have stuck with the show this long to have Abby and Luca leave early this season and not even stick it out one more season until the end. It really is such a shame and I hope that it isn't true. If so, as a loyal fan, I will be VERY disappointed and will feel greatly let down.

trust me if he does you will not be dissappointed, he is currently featured on an australian drama "sea patrol".

Acutally, Dr. Greene wanted to leave–it was the producer's decision. Carter wanted to leave too.
I am a loyal " roomie" fan and to hear Shane West is for sure not coming back this season but maybe for some episodes next season, I'm so pissed off. Right now that is the only real story holding that show together. I hope that " roomie" fans get a happy ending since next season is the last!! ER bosses shouldn't have written in Stanley Tucci's plot like so, if they HAD to have him to boost ratings, they could've made his a Romano clone. The double shock cost them to lose fans instead of gain them.
Finally, since she made movies that flopped - commercially - why won't she:
A. Make animated features (she has good voices) or;
B. Make movies together with Goran? Their chemistry revived ER!
PS: Maura, get in touch with your fans. Make a site, blog etc, all other actors/singers do and they communicate with their fans through them and AIM. They won't "pretend" anything

Good god, has ER really been on that long? That show has lasted FOREVER - I stopped watching several years ago because all of the original cast kept leaving and I could no longer keep track of the characters and story lines.

For the first 5 seasons this was one of the best dramas ever. It went down after after Clooney left. Mark Greene's death was the final nail in the golden years coffin. I started watching again a few seasons ago, but it was nothing like it was. I did like the Ray/Neela pairing, but it never really materialized. I stopped watching this season, John Stamos is awful. I would love to see Doug and Carol back on more time.
I want them to bring back Shane West for a few episodes before it ends!! He was soo great on it!
I DO NOT LIKE ER and HATED it when George Clooney when he was on. I didn't watch until his charater was GONE and the show got better. There were some very good years in between the great exodus of all the original cast….but it could have been cancelled long ago. POOF! BE GONE ALREADY!!!
I don't watch "ER" much, but I'll tell you who is my favorite cast member. it's Maura Tierney. she's the best thing that ever happen to the series. I may be the one that say this, but think she gorgous all the way. I love her.

John Stamos killed this series. God, he was so awful! He only has two expressions and he is NOT that funny. Why did they hire this dud? Death by Stamos.

I watched forever but they lost me around the time Laura Innes left. but WYLE"S coming back so I'm there. Too bad about tierney because I would have watched Abby and Carter for sure. I thought Luka left but it would be good if he was there when Carter's back.
