Madonna knocks Mariah out of #1 this week!
While 4 Minutes stays even with sales from last week, Mariah drops more than 40% to come in at #4.
That does not bode well for Touch My Body!
HOWEVER, Madonna will NOT top the Billboard HOT 100 tonight.

I think no one can deny that. No. 1 is not the most important thing, popularity is….One of Us bye Joan Osbourne never reached no. 1, 4 example, but it's a classic song that everyone knows. As a rock fan, I admire Madonna's GROUNDBREAKING attitude. I think that what she did no one did. She's opinionated, she's strong, she has personality, she commands, she is definetely iconic. I think that she is the first female that had complete control of her image, music, thoughts.
When racism, catholic dogmas, homosexuality & lesbianism, war, misoginy were taboo issues, Madonna spoke about that through songs, concerts, videos, images….that is GROUNDBREAKING. That is ROCK. Even though she never recorded a single rock song in her career, she's rock in the attitude….and that's why she's been inducted in the r&r hall of fame, and not many people I know lamented that. I cannot imagine Mariah Carey in the RR hall of fame. There are not many legends in music history, and I think Madonna is sure one of them, Elvis, Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, U2, and yes, Madonna. The only female act that can be included (not even Cher or Barbra Streisand) in my opinion. Madonna (I don't care) is still, today, referred to as Queen of Pop, and for a reason I think. Never for a moment Carey, Minogue, Spears, Beyonce, Janet, Aguilera, Keys have been called like that bye the press, tv or else. And if carey, beyonce, aguilera, keys for instance, sell more records in USA well…..that don't mean a thing. When it comes to global popularity, records sold, concerts, videos, visuals…..well, there's no comparison with anybody.
I'd like to see one concert of her, even if i don't know a word of her songs, I think that there are events to be seen, and I don't think that a carey's concert is an event. I wanted to write, because i read that to have more no. 1 is the most important thing in the world, but while taste is taste, music history is music history, I'm sorry, and Madonna had and still has a major relevance and importance than everyone female act (and many male acts). Hi, this is Madonna. I realize that my fans are cool, smart and attractive. There is really no need for this bickering, though. I mean, who really cares what stupid, fat and ugly Mariah fans think. Re: MARIAH4EVER – The world music awards are a hobby of the prince of monaco and paid for by him, they hold no weight and are not recognised anywhere….you should check out their 100 million seller list and then check the agianst the real authorities on the subject: Recording Industry Association of America and the International Federation of Phonographic Industry, Mariah is 3rd best in US (but only just behind Madonna) and she is far behind in Europe….Sony were found guilty of payola with MC and paid a a huge fine…I wonder exactly how many of her air play number 1s were paid for?

Madonna is ALL IMAGE, if you strip everything down to the essence, there is not much musicality left. On the other hand Mariah's image always worked more against her then for her, because of some preconceived notions that she should stay the same as in the beginning of her career, that she's a diva, that she's not "credible" and more crap like that… She really had to break free of the mold people set for her to be herself…and she did…against all odds…and very succesfully !! and that's why she really deserves much more respect then Madonna, because it's her music that made it happen…not an image

Mariah Carey’s "E=MC2" comes out on Tuesday — it’s the follow-up to her smash 2004 "Emancipation of Mimi" album that had a bunch of hits on it. And let me tell you, even I’m surprised. "E=MC2" might be an even bigger chart-topping monster. A few weeks ago, I told you I’d heard some tracks, but now the album is done and sequenced. There are songs on it. Remember songs? You will be in love with "Side Effects," one of several real R&B tracks with a gorgeous vocal, a cool rap by Young Jeezy and lyrics that should make Mariah’s ex, Tommy Mottola, do a spit-take. In the song, Carey sings about "waking up scared some nights, still dreaming about the violent times." Is it about Mottola? The lyrics begin: "I was a girl/You were ‘the man’/I was too young to understand/I was naïve/Believing everything you told me."
And apparently she’s still living with "side effects" from "the private hell we built" — "sleeping with the enemy/aware that he was smothering every last part of me."
ALBUM REVIEW CONTINUED:She even addresses Mottola directly: "Said you were strong/protecting me/then I found out that you were weak/keeping me there under your thumb." Mottola may be hearing that song a lot on the radio since "Side Effects" has a Top 40 hook. The Young Jeezy rap only makes it better. Even more than "Emancipation," "E=MC2" sounds like a jukebox full of singles for the best summer party ever. "I Stay in Love" is a killer ballad, and "Wish You Well" is a gospel-tinged ode to Aretha Franklin’s "Natural Woman" that shows off the best of her range. Another track, "Bye Bye" is almost a sequel to Carey’s long-ago hit with Boyz II Men, "One Sweet Day."
The almost certain No. 1, I think, to extend Carey’s long string: "I’ll Be Lovin’ U A Long Time," in which her production team marries a sample from DeBarge with the hook from "Hill Street Blues" and adds just enough of a new twist to create the most elusive thing of all: a radio smash. "OOC (Out of Control)" is set to shake up dance clubs.

Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" begins a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, fending off the resurgent "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, which jumps 4-2. Madonna's "4 Minutes" holds at No. 3 after selling 217,000 digital downloads.
However, she increased to # 2 on the airplay charts, and remains #1 on the Billboard hot 100. This week she tied elvis with the most weeks spent at #1. This bodes very well for touch my body. Most single that sell that huge ( touch my body sold huge-record breaking numbers) fall the next week. Quit hating on Mimi; her album will be huge, mark my words!!!!!!!!!!!!
