Missing U.K. Star: Dead or Alive?

Sad story.
Former BBC kids TV show host Mark Speight has been missing since Monday.
According to friends, Speight has been plagued with guilt and sadness since the death of his fiancee, actress Natasha Collins.
Just before Collins' death, Speight admitted to police that he and Collins had been "partying" at their fancy Northwest London apartment, drinking wine and vodka and taking cocaine and sleeping pills. He awoke from 'partying' to find his fiancee dead in a hot bath.
Drugs are BAD! Mixing drugs and alcohol is even worse!!!!
Loved ones are worried because Speight told a friend before his disappearance he wanted to "end it all".
Friends and family are hoping that he just wants a bit of space and that he will get in touch soon.
We hope he's ok and gets some professional help!

ooooohhhhhh i remember him from SMart. lame i know. he was a total cokehead and tried to hide it for yearsbut it was soo obvious. i feel sorry for him and all but i cant beliee this made it on to this website hes not a celeb and millions of people go missing daily so why does he desere special attention especially when hes partly to blame for his gf's death.

She died on Jan 3, 2008. The story kinda makes it sound like she died a few days ago.

Sounds like a job for "Jim'll Fix it", too bad the BBC took that off the air in 1994. Perhaps it's time for the kids to build a rehab clinic in the corner of the Blue Peter garden for all the washed up children's TV presenters.

I remember watching Smart when I was a kid, he has been on tv forever. I don't want anything bad to happen to him, it wouldn't be fair on his family.
Also as much as I hate drugs Natasha was a fully grown adult and surely the responsibility of her death in 90% hers. I doubt he forced the drugs into her and then dropped her in that scalding water.
His face has always freaked me out, just like rubber but Natasha was really beautiful.
I hope he is ok, my cousin disappeared as was found dead only last September so I know it is only the family that suffer when this sort of things happen.

I loved him on smart…. so wierd how you so innocently watched these shows when you were small, but actually have no idea what the people are really like. I.e. high on coke while demonstrating how to make a paper mache photo frame or something.. ohhhh I feel spoiled!
Aaaw i used to watch his Arty show!:s i feel sorry for him…he needs help…but we'll have to find him first…poor guy…drugs n alcohol…bad stuff!
He didn't love her that much. He is for SURE bisexual and liked to dabble in the man department too. He's a fucked up looser and deserves what he got in life by the choices he made. I have NO sympathy for people like that. And no one will give a shit about him a week after he is found dead. Move on… next. no time for garbage.

I met Mark about ten years ago - he was kind enough to come to a screening I was having for some inner city kids animation work shops - he was really lovely to the kids and he is a decent bloke. I think if he is suffering from depression and grief and coke withdrawal he could have taken his life. I hope he hasn't though. I hope he is just taking a break to sort his head out.

Drugs are bad! — My God, you sound like such a Nelly-Do-Good. Drugs aren't bad - they save lives! People that do drugs as recreation are just plain STUPID. Go hiking, go buy a dog - do something that gets you up and OUT. Most problems come from DEPRESSION and lack of activity that stimulates the brain. Don't have drugs do that for you, do it yourself.
