    No Bush THOUGHT he could control oil prices by taking over Iraq, instating his own ruler, I think his name was Achmad Chalabi, and then by having control help offset prices. But he lost by losing the "war" and not having any real control of any oil so prices skyrocket. Alot of the oil is held my islamic countries (OPEC) and They HATE bush.     I was expecting to reach this page and post a little comment about how assenine it is to blame it all on the President but found so many others had already thought about it and posted my thoughts. It's nice to read not everyone is jumping on the wagon of "we hate the President". He may not be right in all of his decisions/actions but really, he doesn't have ALL the power people.

In fact, the U.S. government only controls the taxes on the gas sold in the U.S. In reality, it is supply and demand that dictates the prices. And the reason prices are so high is because China is developing so quickly and buying up a LOT of oil/gas. This is a gossip website, not a political analysis website.     Perez you should really do some homework and learn that the president doesn't control the oil prices. you should be more mad at opec. opec controls output of oil. yes it is a supply and demand situation. you also have to realize that oil companies are just like other companies. they are in the business to make money. if they don't make money they fold. oil companies have to make money when they can cause oil prices can drop. sometimes they go years drilling wells that don't produce any natural gas or oil. Do you know how many millions of dollars it takes to drill one well. I do. My husband works for one of the drilling companies and no we are by no means "RICH". Don't you remember just about 8-10 years ago the price of oil was only 78 cents. It could happen again at any moment. The price of gas has a whole lot of taxes on it. You don't realize it but it does. Complain to your state's goverment to them about the taxes that you don't see on that gas.
