Canadian rocker Bryan Adams (the Summer of '69 guy) is teaming up with Wal-Mart for his next album release.
The album, titled "11"…cause it's his 11th studio album, will be released in the United States on May 13th exclusively via Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores.
Bryan Adams' last album only sold 44,000 here in the U.S. Sad.
We smell a publicity stunt!

Wal-Mart were the only people who probably wanted to release a Bryan Adams album after his last disaster.

In fairness to Brian Adams, the choice was release his album through Wal-Mart, or continue working there as a greeter. Isn't Sam's Club a wholesale outlet chain? I wonder if Brian Adam's marketing plan is to try to peddle his new album to consumers who are there to buy five pound boxes of paprika, skids containing cases of Cheetos, and those that are there to pick up truck load shipments of Teddygrams? If you buy a block of government cheese do you get John Cougar Mellencamp's new CD? Next stop, exclusive appearences at Dollar Stores nation wide.
His Cd's being available for a while in Canadian Starbucks's. I don't know why he would be teaming up with Walmart. Especially with their reputation.
I actually have this album and it is very good. I recommend that everyone check it out. Bryan Adams is a very talented musician.

Eagles successfully did the Wal-Mart thing, and Journey (with their new lead singer, which they found on YouTube) is also release their new double album/DVD exclusively to Wal-Mart.
Unfortunately the strategy isn't going to work. This album has been available in Canada for awhile and it is just no good (that's putting it nicely). I've been an Adams fan for years but he hasn't put out a good record since the 90s. I was expecting more. Here's hopeing he does better next time!

I love Bryan Adams, bt he lost me a little with some of that sappy love stuff in the 90's. He's had good stuff since then though, like "Back to You" and "When You're Gone" with Mel C. I'm sure he'll get popular again eventually. The music business is just hard now because radio doesn't play pop and everyone steals the songs online. It sucks. There really aren't any big stars anymore. It's the fault of the radio programmers.
Adams's last disc, "Room Service," wasn't that bad - if he had gotten decent publicity and radio support, it could have sold better. C'mon, Perez, you've got the clout! You think you can get Bryan one more hit?

You know Perez, normally I halfway respect your ideas and opinions on music. But anyone that can move 44,000 units with no MTV or radio support is actually pretty impressive. Not every artist out there has the industry machine or the American Idol audience hanging on every note they're putting out. Actually, from my experience, tha artist that sell 40 or 50,000 albums are a hell of a lot better than the multi platinum douchebags that get covered.
There really is so much great music out there that gets buried because of the Britney/Mariah/etc… bandwagons!
