It's about time!
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Katie Couric could be out of the anchor position at old people land way before the end of her 5 year CBS News contract.
The evening news' ratings shave SUCKED since Katie took the helm. And, if things don't shape up considerably for Couric, sources speculate that she'll be out right after we inaugurate a new president.
Where to next for Katie? You know she can't go back to the Today show!
Insiders say she could be replacing Larry King on CNN once the old dog's contract expires in '09.
Good luck, Katie. You need it!

I like Katie, but she feel for the same thing that movie stars do — they think we watch a program or movie for them. It is the style of the show or the plot of the movie that pulls in most of the time. Why don't they understand that the talent is often interchangeable.

Katie was right for morning TV, but I think people want more than perky in an evening news show. Also, frankly, I think evening news shows are just going to be less and less relevant. People aren't sitting down to watch a half-hour of news if they can go online and get updated news all day long whenever they want. Hey . . . here's a thought: how about we give Katie's slot to Perez??

I Love how CBS supposedly thought that hiring Katie would bring in younger viewers. Um….she is in her 50's. Younger viewers get their news whenever they want it on the internet, we aren't sitting at home waiting for the evening news to come on. Sheesh.

Katie isn't the issue. What's at issue is that society is changing the way it gets news and information and no longer needs to "make an appointment" with ABC, CBS, or NBC at 5:30 every evening. Few of us are even home from work at that time. America no longer needs three network newscasts when we already know the headlines from the Internet and radio. Network newscast ratings have been falling since 1980 and they will continue to fall. It's like bringing back horse-and-buggies. Not gonna happen. The Internet, just like the automobile, is here to stay.
She is so annoying…it would be wonderful if she just up and disappeared…that and those videos of her behind-the-scences? She was such a bitch.

I saw this coming from the get go. The format of the show isn't right for evening news.
The much-hyped arrival of Couric, a longtime host of rival NBC's top-rated "Today" morning show, drew huge audiences to the CBS "Evening News" for a couple of weeks after she took over in September 2006.
Couric promised to bring a softer touch to the broadcast, including longer feature stories, in-depth interviews and a chattier approach. YEA RIGHT !!!!
But the retooled show quickly lost all the new viewers and plenty of the old ones, too. It plunged to the bottom of the three-way network news ratings race - and has stayed there ever since. NO SUPRISE TO US !!!
Couric couldn't even match the numbers put up by Bob Schieffer, the "Face the Nation" host who kept the anchor seat warm after Rather left under a cloud over questions about his report on President Bush's National Guard service.
Rather piled pressure on Couric last year by accusing her of "dumbing down" and "tarting up" the venerable show that for years was anchored by Walter Cronkite, often called the "most trusted man in America."
Soon, many of her new features were gone and she even ditched the "Hi, everyone," greeting in favor of the more formal "Hello." NOW SAY GOODBYE BITCH !!!

Fox News has the largest audience, because they offer the news without preferences, unbiased, with equal footing for all sides, no spin on stories, etc. Unlike the other networks, they don´t have any flashy big name anchors, but only people with journalistic careers that care about news content, worthiness and presentation with the truth elevated to its highest relevancy. News just the way we like it to be presented to us. Thats why those other networks will never catch up with Fox…Cause they do not want to change their ways of presenting the news as if it were entertaining like a Hollywood movie or Broadway play requiring a star studed cast. The news is not in that category and requires skill, knowledge and definitively the truth matters. Most important is has to be unbiased and no tilts of favoritism. A Journalist must be completely neutral, fair and unbiased. At $15 Million per year how can you be objective, fair and unbiased.

What a DISASTER Katie would be as Larry's replacement! Aren't the rock bottom ratings for CBS News proof enough? The woman is an suck up to get the interview to the max, she would have puff pieces on her favorite suck ups like murder suspect John Ramsey, and all the other "notorious" people she has fawned over, just to get the big interview, where they won't have to answer any hard questions. Katie sucks. She is an embarassment to all women.
People wondering about how Katie got the CBS News anchor job. It's simple. The disaster belongs to Les Moonves, who is married to Julie Chen on the CBS Morning Show. She probably think's Katie's a God with her huge ratings from the Today Show. Moonves is the real one to blame, he fired Imus, Howard Stern, Rather and hired Katie! What an IDIOT!
