Chavez Pisses His Country's Money Away

wenn626050.jpg

From Sean Penn and Naomi Campbell to Kevin Spacey and, now, Danny Glover.

Hugo Chavez is the ultimate starfucker!

The Venezuelan Comisión de Finanzas de la Asamblea Nacional has just approved an extra $9 million to Danny Glover and his production company, Louverture Films.

The Finance Commission had already approved about $18 million last year for the project!!!!!!!

The money is being spent to create a film about the life of the Hatian pro-independence leader, François Dominique Toussaint Louverture.

Toussaint Louverture was a freed African-American slave, who led thousands of slaves in campaigns against the foreign troops, before he was betrayed and exiled. He passed away in 1803, shortly before his followers were able to establish Haiti's independence.

Chavez is hoping that this film will help to improve his public opinion and appeal by showing a movement against Western oppression.

That's great and all, but….

$27 million!!!!!!!

How many hungry Venezuelans could that feed???????

"Toussaint Louverture was a freed African-American slave, who led thousands of slaves in campaigns against the foreign troops…" You dumb fuck. Haitian, if even that, not "African-American." Who the fuck are "the foreign troops" you speak of? Oh, you mean THE FRENCH. The French who happened to own what is now modern Haiti. I can't tell you how many times I have seen posts on this site, presumably written by this guy (although from what I can tell he just gathers shit from other sites), that have some sort of political overtone to them. Whenever I do, it's quite evident that whoever writes this shit is one of the most uninformed human beings to ever steal air.

This HAITIAN man TOUSSAINT L'OUVERTURE was responsible for VENEZUELA and COLUMBIA'S independence from the SPANIARDS. Which is why Chavez feels the need to make this movie because without this HAITIAN BLACK MAN they would still be under SPAIN's dominance. The world loves to pretend that BLACK people haven't accomplished anything in history. CHAVEZ wants to prove the world wrong. Especially UNEDUCATED and UNMOTIVATED Americans who will sit idly by while their president destroys their country. This HAITIAN BLACK man TOUSSAINT L'OUVERTURE helped HAITI, VENEZUELA and COLUMBIA gain their independence from colonialism hence COLUMBIA and VENEZUELA have the colors of the HAITIAN FLAG in their FLAGS. Please America gain some culture, read some books! PEREZ you might want to do the same especially since HAITI and CUBA have a long history, CELIA CRUZ was part HAITIAN.

Venezuelans who have computers and the internet hate Chavez more than the vastly larger number of people they used to own.
Because these princes and princesses were so mad that they could no longer own people, they asked the US to intervene by sponsoring a coup. Sadly, they fucked it up and got caught. Were they buttraped by soldiers in special foreign prisons until they died, after watching their children get buttraped to death, like the US does in Abu Ghraib? No, they went to court and did their time and some have already been released. Oh the horror! And now some crybabies can't get lattes and advil? Yeah, I buy that. NOT!
Citgo gave away gas and fuel oil to American and other nations' poor-no American company nor Middle Eastern oil company has or will do that, because they are committed to robbing you of every last penny you own until you freeze to death or starve because you can't afford the price of food from more than 400 miles from your home. Your suffering equals more money for Bush and Cheney, America's pimps. Just keep voting for the GOP and maybe their successes at removing Castro will be equaled by their successes in Vietnam, Iran, and Iraq. Oh, wait, they don't have any successes, just body counts and torture videos to masturbate to. Memories.

    113

Hola Perez ! ….Do you know how much a commercial cost,s per min?

    I dont think it's much!

Former White House lawyer John Yoo's recently disclosed 2003 memo positing, among other things, that the president's authority as commander in chief allows him to override federal laws prohibiting "assault, maiming and other crimes" against suspects in the "war on terror" was followed by a second revelation: an alarming footnote on page 8 referring to another secret memo, written shortly after 9/11, and, in the name of national security, dispensing with the Fourth Amendment.

In the age of the "war on terror," according to the footnote, the Department of Justice "recently concluded that the Fourth Amendment had no application to domestic military operations."

The Fourth Amendment, of course, lays out "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures."The Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping program — which was started in the same weeks the memo was written . Proof that the program originated at the same time that the White House officially jettisoned the Fourth Amendment in the name of national security is a damning — if not surprising — revelation.

    114

Speaking of paying attention: In case there was any doubt, no, Congress and the White House have not yet agreed upon an updated version of the FISA bill. After an endless series of discussions, false starts, shameless, 24-inspired GOP propaganda ads, and one ridiculous countdown clock — on March 14, to Bush's dismay, the House passed a version of the FISA bill that omitted immunity for telecoms. This was the day after Bush had appeared on the White House lawn and tried to shame House members into passing the Senate version of the FISA bill, which allows retroactive immunity for telecoms. "Companies that may have helped us save lives should be thanked for their patriotic service," Bush said, "not subjected to billion-dollar lawsuits that will make them less willing to help in the future."

  15. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    115

In reality, the Bush administration is less concerned about protecting the telecoms than it is about insulating itself from accountability in operating as if it is above the law. As Sheyman points out, "Passing retroactive immunity would put an end once and for all to lawsuits which have the potential to expose the full extent of Bush's illegal wiretapping program … On this question, there can be no doubt, immunity for phone companies is the same as immunity for George Bush and Dick Cheney."

Coincidentally, the same day that news broke of the Bush administration's supposed newfound spirit of "compromise," on April 1 on Democracy Now!, Amy Goodman interviewed New York Times journalist Eric Lichtblau, one of the two reporters to break the warrantless wiretapping story in December 2005. In his first national broadcast interview following the publication of his book Bush's Law: The Remaking of American Justice, Lichtblau described the atmosphere surrounding revelations of Bush's spying program.

"FBI agents stumbled onto this program accidentally within about twelve hours of its inception, and there was a firestorm of anxiety: 'What the hell is going on here?' was the reaction literally of one official. This went up the fire poll to senior officials who said, 'What is going on here? The NSA is not supposed to be in the business of spying on Americans.'"

  16. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    116

He also described the intense pressure exerted by the White House on the Times not to publish the story of the government spying program. Ultimately, he said, "the message … was that if there is another attack because you run the story, there will be blood on the New York Times's hands. That was the message that we all took away from this. If there is another calamity because of — if there's another calamity after the New York Times runs this story, we will be responsible."

Three and a half years later, there have been no terrorist attacks on American soil, a fact the administration would credit to illegal programs like warrantless wiretapping. The Bush administration has even seen fit to rewrite history to fit this narrative; in late March, at a speaking engagement at New York's Commonwealth Club, Attorney General Michael Mukasey came close to tears as he claimed that the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 could have been prevented if the government had been in a position to eavesdrop without a warrant. "We've got 3,000 people who went to work that day and didn't come home to show for that," he said, struggling to regain his composure. Glenn Greenwald, whose FISA coverage has been unmatched, has plenty to say about Mukasey's false claims. When it comes to pushing through the FISA legislation, it seems nothing is sacred to the Bush administration

  17. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    117

As we await the next "compromise" (or capitulation) on FISA, it's a good time to step away from the endless chatter and take the long view. Revelations like the 2003 memo provide a sobering reminder that, like the White House's torture doctrine, the Bush administration's eavesdropping program was designed in a constitutional vacuum. As reporters for the Associated Press articulated, simply, "For at least 16 months after the Sept. 11 terror attacks in 2001, the Bush administration believed that the Constitution's protection against unreasonable searches and seizures on U.S. soil didn't apply to its efforts to protect against terrorism." As with so many other post-9/11 abuses of power, rather than pushing back, Congress has willingly bent to the frame the Bush administration has imposed when it comes to its eavesdropping program, one that leaves out the basic fact that it was illegal from the start. The result has been dire. As Greenwald wrote last August, "That government officials like McConnell feel so comfortable openly admitting that the government broke the law, obtaining amendments to legalize that behavior after the fact, and then demanding immunity for the lawbreakers, demonstrates how severely the rule of law has been eroded over the last six years

    Police State Torch Run !

In San Francisco, the authorities were so worried about the prospect of thousands of people expressing their outrage over Tibet and China’s flagrant human rights violations they changed the Olympic torch relay route. It was a sneaky, last minute change that denied the people of San Francisco a chance to participate in the torch relay event, an event introduced by the Nazis at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.

It would seem our rulers, not unlike the Nazis, put a lot of credence in what is essentially a pagan event. The Olympic Flame commemorates the theft of fire from the Greek god Zeus by Prometheus. A fire permanently burned on the altar of Hestia in Olympia, Greece, in ancient times. During the Olympic Games, which honored Zeus, additional fires were lit at his temple and that of his wife, Hera. The modern Olympic flame is ignited at the site where the temple of Hera once stood.

  21. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    121

But so much for the history lesson. In San Francisco this afternoon, pagan symbolism was difficult to make out, as it was buried under a phalanx of SWAT cops, regular cops mounted on bikes, motorcycles, and marching on foot, not to mention tightly surrounded by Chinese secret police in snazzy tracksuits. In fact, after watching a helicopter video feed on CNN, it appears the preponderance of SFPD cops were on hand to provide “security” — from the vagaries of the First Amendment — not only for the torch runners but the detachment of Chinese PAP, short for People’s Armed Police, as well.

The tracksuit-clad Sacred Torch Guard Team was drawn from China’s paramilitary People’s Armed Police, which is used for internal security. The group formed last August and trained by running six miles daily. While their chief mission is to protect the flame, they’ve also cracked down on protesters. Sebastian Coe, a two-time medalist and chairman of the London Games in 2012, called them “thugs” and said they tried to push him. A torchbearer in Paris, environmental journalist Yolaine De La Bigne, told the Associated Press that the team snatched away the Tibetan flag headband she was wearing.

  22. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    122

Of course they can get away with it. Because the United States is but a mere shadow of what it was even fifty years ago and today few know what national sovereignty is. Now the corporate media feels obliged to make comments in passing about the “heavy security” at such events but does not bother to follow this aside through — an observer not brainwashed by years of unrelenting police state propaganda supposedly inspired by the horrific events of cave dwelling terrorists, the heavy presence of black-clad cops, including a close quarter SWAT contingent, would be reminded of a police state.

It was breathtaking how easily China’s PAP goons interacted with San Francisco’s finest, the latter who spent at least a little time pushing and shoving a pathetic handful of demonstrators who managed to discover the last minute route change. But then, with every passing day, the U.S. and China become more and more alike, including the same overriding contempt for free speech and dissent.

  23. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    123

But then they both have the same bastard father — the New World Order. David Rockefeller was deadly serious when he declared in 2001 that the relationship between China and the United States “is one of the most important bilateral relations in the world. Although US-China relations have experienced misunderstanding in recent years, he said, he is glad to see the recent encouraging improvement in this respect.”

In other words, much of the world misunderstands China’s torture of prisoners, its organ harvest program, its policy of forced abortion, its restrictions on free speech and political organizing, its absence of due process, its suppression of religion, its arbitrary detention of dissidents, and its obsessive use of the death penalty, even for nonviolent property crimes such as theft, embezzlement and forgery.

David Rockefeller, the international bankers, and transnational corporations are not concerned with any of this, of course, as their focus is upon the China Model — that is to say, China’s successful effort to turn the most populated country in the world into a sprawling industrialized slave labor gulag churning out a nearly unimaginable number of “consumer goods, ” never mind the lead paint, heavy metals and other toxins.

  24. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    124

And that’s one reason the Olympic torch relay was hemmed in by cops and secret police — because the U.S. does not want to upset the Chinese, who often react violently at the least provocation, or opposition to their totalitarianism, at any rate.

Finally, it should be added that China practically owns the United States. It holds over $1 trillion in dollar denominated assets, of which $330 billion are U.S. Treasury notes.

It’s not really a good idea to anger somebody who holds a large number of chits — and people filling the streets complaining about China’s notorious and multifaceted abuses certainly anger the Chicom leadership.

  25. MARACANAZO1950 says – reply to this

    125

Rudd Says 'No' to China Torch Guards!

Chinese paramilitary police will not be allowed to run alongside the Olympic torch in Australia, the country's prime minister said Thursday, after their heavy-handed tactics drew criticism in earlier legs of the relay.

The men in bright blue tracksuits were dispatched by Beijing to guard the Olympic flame on its journey around the world. They sparked concern in London and Paris, with the top official for the 2012 London Olympics calling them "thugs."

The torch is scheduled to pass through the Australian capital of Canberra on April 24, but the Chinese security agents escorting it will have to travel in a bus during the relay, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said.

Hi Perez, I'm from Venezuela. Thanks for point this out. USD$27 FREAKING MILLIONS is more than the salary of many Top Hollywood actors today, although they are denying now that payment, as usual…. BTW I heard that Naomi Campbell's visit to Venezuela was because she was sought with Leo DiCaprio in Cuba, Cuba's Regime caught the couple on tape and both regimes blackmail her.

Re: le vicomte de Rochambeau – I sure hope it does! The Atlantic ocean is deep with African blood! What kind of idiot are you to make this statement knowing the inhumane way the enslaved were treated. Wouldn't you kill the person who STOLE you from your land and ENSLAVED you? I would cut the heads off of their babies and feed it to them–they deserved everything they got!

    MALDITO CHÁVEZ. ¡MIL VECES MALDITO!
With all that money he could feed poor people, specially STARVING CHILDREN in the streets and why not, repair all the hospitals!
I really hope he goes away soon, otherwise this country won't ever see the light again!
    OJALÁ SE MUERA!

Uh, Toussaint L'Ouverture was not African-American, his nation was Haiti, which made him Haitian.
Danny Glover has been under Chavez' spell for awhile now, this isn't new. Even after Chavez called Pres. Bush the devil before the U.N., Danny Glover feted him uptown in NYC. Bad move, Danny.

Re: Mystic – What kind of idiot are YOU to make statements advocating infanticide?? You are one psychopathic mother fucker. You know very well that they didn't kill the people who "STOLE" them and "ENSLAVED" them. Their own kin in Africa sold them to the highest bidder. I guess it's just SOOO much more convenient to blame the whites. You say those poor innocent women and children got what they deserved, but who had the last laugh? Under Haitian self-rule, the country has gone from one wealthiest spots on Earth to the poorest and most backward country in the Western Hemisphere. The only times the country was semi-functional and liveable were when foreigners (read: WHITES) intervened. All I'm sayinf is that it would be a sin to turn these people into some sort of fictitious folk heroes à la Che Guevara.

Perez, stop talking about things you don't know about. WTF Toussaint Louverture was an AFRICAN AMERICAN? He was a Haitian slave! The term African American is very much exclusive to the US. More like he was a freed African slave. Not even Haitian I would say, seeing as he was born in Africa, not Haiti.
