After an ambitious TV campaign to promote her new CD in the U.S., which saw her appearing on Ellen, the Today show, Dancing With the Stars and the Late Late Show…..
Kylie Minogue's X has debuted on the Billboard album charts at #139.
So sad!
The record sold a very very disappointing 5,500 copies.
Oh, well. She'll never make it in America, but the rest of the world (and us too) LOVES Kylie!
P.S. We blame the choice of single on the album's poor first-week performance.
All I See should NOT have been Kylie's first release in America with this album!

I was NOT impressed with her on Dancing with the Stars… Her new song she sang on there was low-quality… I ended up turning the channel because I couldn't stand it…

Ya know, I like her music & all but her voice just gets old after like three songs. She'll never ever be the gay icon you claim, Perez. Absolutely never. And for some reason, us Americans just don't gravitate to her. She's just so-so. Nothing major, yet still entertaining. I wouldn't pay more than like $40 to see her.

I believe that all artists sales suck honestly because I only know, in my whole friends & family circle, of a few actual albums bought. Eveything is available online for free now, and everyone has a mp3 player now. There really isn't a demand for cd's anymore. & that's my 2 cents!!
Couldnt agree more - should have gone with 2 hearts or in my arms - all i see is nothing more than a decent album track. Think her people went with it as its the most 'RnB' like track on the album and at the moment that seems to dominate US charts and airplay - wrong approach.

I agree - Kylie's choice of first single in the US was not good, and her performance on DWTS was a bit weak. Also it's difficult performing a song live for the first time, as people don't know it, and can't really relate. She does have other great songs she could have released (and probably might still do). She will ALWAYS be a STAR though!!

That sucks. I love kylie, im a huge fan. I think that it hurts to have had the album out in europe such a long time already, so any kylie fans in america either got it on import by now or downloaded it online. Its an amazing pop record, but All I See is weak. And to what some ppl say, yah for the most part kylie is loved by the gays lol but you all are just missing out. I still love ya kylie.

Kylie sucked big time on Dancing with the Stars (at first I thought some unknown was doing a poor cover of "Can't get you outta my head"!), and she made a poor choice in clothing. After all her keepin' mum on what exact surgery she had done for her cancer, it was clear she has no left breast anymore. Cover it up if you don't want us to know, honey!!

My heart sheds a tear…I bought the album via itunes, and was going to get the real cd as well, but backed out at the last minute (thought it was overkill). But now I may. 5,500 copies?? She should have bombarded us with WOW or Two Hearts….ah well, America never had good taste…

What do you expect ? Capitol US is not the kind of label that can have a hit with a pop artist. They know rock music, nothing more. Regardless of what Kylie's US single could have been, she would not have fared well. They phoned in their promotion of her for this album. Plus, they waited too long to release it in the States. Anyone who cares about Kylie would have bought the import in the shops or the internet ages ago. Someone needs to tell Capitol it's a global market these days.

I like her BUT……………. have always felt she exudes a tacky "Las Vegas" ….. "SHow Biz" kind of vibe that does not appeal to the younger music buying crowd in North America. She is HUGE in the UK, Australia and Europe tho.
She needs to work with hipper producers and choreographers if she wants to appeal to music buyers. Maybe new management would help. She has never really caught on here and I think this may have been her last "kick at the can" for America.

I agree that 'All I See' should not have been the first single released in the USA, but let's face it. The album was released everywhere else in the world back in November. Anyone who wanted the album found ways to get it back then. With that said, the album is great!

I love Kylie! And I love her first single. I heard it on the radio and didn't even realize it was her til I saw her performance on Dancing on here. I think it needs more radio play. I'm gonna order her album today. Didn't know it was out yet. She's awesome and America just doesn't know it yet. Been a fan ever since she was in the Street Fighter movie!

Me and a couple of buddies in Arizona bought her album on import way back in December. I know many hard core Kylie fans in America that have had the CD since late last year when it came out in the UK. Perhaps her devoted fans were already in possession of the disk and those numbers were not reflected in last weeks sales. Plus, she never tours in the states. We want our Kylie! Love, love, love her…
Well, since JT grabbing her behind at the European MTV awards made him famous in the UK back in the days, maybe he should return the favour and help make her famous in the US… maybe she should have debuted with 2 hearts instead of the song she picked too.

Blame the record companies for mismanaging this release. The US gets this 6 months after the original release date. Most big fans have already ordered imports because there was no US release date for MONTHS! If the imports were counted, who knows how many more albums she's sold. Not to mention the fact that X was available for download on iTunes for a while, but no way are those sales counted here either.
Poorly poorly managed launch for the album. Nice way to fuck it up, Capitol. Next time, suck it up and release the album when the rest of the world gets it!!

it's a really fun electro-dance album. totally light party feel with great beats. great for gym or driving or…obviously…a party. definitely worth the $10. i got it as an early xmas present from friends and then bought a second copy for my sister. i guess it was released in canada 6 months before US.
