Bad news for NBC. Very bad!
As Conan O'Brien is set to replace Jay Leno on the Tonight Show next year……
Craig Ferguson, whose Late Late Show began in January 2005, finally managed to beat his competition for the first time in over three years.
This marks the first time Ferguson's show has gotten higher ratings than Conan's Late Night.
Ferguson's executive producer, Peter Lassally, stated that Ferguson's "getting looser and looser all the time and for the last few months it's clear that he's having such a good time that you can't resist it as a viewer."
That's great news for Ferguson, who's probably been having a great start of the year. Just two months ago, the Scottish Ferguson was officially sworn in as a US Citizen after passing his American citizenship test.
And now, later this month he will be hosting the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C., which as you know, Perezzers will also be attending!
In response to Ferguson's ratings spike, NBC noted that O'Brien was still ahead with viewers aged 18-49, to which the network bases its advertising sales on. And with the younger half of the demographic, O'Brien gets more viewers than David Letterman.
We wouldn't know who's better to watch. We're usually passed out by the time both shows air!

ew ferguson is not funny at all…did they maybe think that happened because everyone in college goes out on thursdays so they weren't there to watch conan?! i think letterman is the best & i cant wait until leno leaves bc hes had maybe 3 good jokes in all the years of his show. sad.

Conan's number one always but Craig's show is really good too, it's a bit of a conflict for me so I end up going back and forth.

I actually prefer Craig Furgeson most of the time! He's more real than Conan, to me.
I just happened upon CF last week (I rarely leave the cable stations) and this guy is a HOOT! His combination of self-effacing humor and that dry-as-dirt British humor is a grand time!

Glad to see that people are catching on how funny and sincere CF is…Letterman was a smart man to hire him. Don't care what the ratings say, anyone who is smart with a sense of humor watches DL and CF. Jay Leno makes my blood boil he is so scripted and phoney.

Had a chance 2c Ferguson years ago, at a screening for a movie he wrote and starred in and I saw, even then, that he was very funny and clever…even without any type of script. Very dry sense of humor but a great comic. He deserves all success that comes his way.

Conan is a good interviewer, but not funny at all when he does his monologe. Craig's opening is much better.

Ferguson is the best guest interviewer of any of the late nighters, although probably on par with Letterman - they both can do comedy and serious very well & intelligently, and with a wide guest spectrum. Jay's the pits in interviews but he & Letterman get much better guests. Craig deserves better guests to work with. His monologue is topical, up to the minute and very witty. Don't care for his dress-up skits. Craig, we love you here in Toronto!

Craig Ferguson is not funny, he is annoying! I can't stand listening to him. His voice just grates my nerves. Conan, however, is HILARIOUS. I can't wait for him to take of Leno's show because Leno is NOT funny. Letterman is also funny.

Craig has always been the best. CO doesn't listen to his guests because he's sitting there trying to think of something funny to say. Craig is naturally funny and isn't trying to one-up his guests. He's handsome, clever, funny and he's got nice feet!
That is awesome!!! I think Craig Ferguson is the best!!! After working a hard day, I roll a fattie and watch him and relax:) Its pretty sad, but his theme song actually gets me smiling and happy. Conan is so over the top and trying to be funny, whereas Craig is just funny and does not seem to be trying. Coincidetly, I find Jay Leno tries to hard, where Letterman is himself!!!

Its about time! I like Conan. He's funny, but his interviews are so awkward that I feel awkward watching them. I feel uncomfortable for him and his guest. Usually when I watch these shows I'm not interested in anything more than the monologue anyway unless there is a really good star on that night, but with Craig I just love to see how he and whoever he interviews relate. I love when he gets his guests cracking up!

Honestly, I was so surprised that Conan was even picked as Jay's replacement. He's a nice guy but a terribly ineffective host. Watch him - its hard for the guests to get a word in edgewise - he is constantly goofing around, antics, etc. - you never really get to hear an "interview" with the guest.
I don't watch Jay as he's too conservative for me - but I do hope they find a better replacement than Conan. Its kind of like watching a goofy little boy — I want to hear what the guest has to say, and it just rarely happens with him.

Craig is awesome. i have been a big geeky fan since he started. funny, natural, wry…best monologue in late night–hands down. i told him so myself when i ran into him at an art show in the city, and he was so sweet and almost didn't believe me. i was like, no dude, i'm serious. nobody engages the audience into a genuine moment like that. we'll see how they'll corrupt him…

I have watched CF for at least a year. Can't go back and watch Conan O"Moron. I think when he takes over for Leno…..look out. Bad news. I guarantee it is going down in the ratings. Letterman and Ferguson are gonna rule. Good. Conan is never gonna keep the same people who watched Leno. No way. Conan is too childish. His humor will not bode well with the older audience. OMG — you have GOT to be kidding me! CF is LAME. He's the most painfully awkward interviewer I've ever seen and has a great talent for making his guests equally awkward. His monologues and attempts at comedy fall flat. I can't believe he's not cancelled yet — hands down the worst. I'd rather sit through a Carson Daily marathon than watch this guy.

Craig is the best! He's actually intelligent AND funny. How often do you get that? His guests obviously love him, as does the audience. Craig has a totally different style than any other host, and it's WONDERFUL!

Conan is irritating and full of himself. Ferguson isn`t perfect, but he`s a better choice for late-night programming. I LOVED J. Carson, and C.F. is the next best thing!
