This is something different.

Mexico's Lucha Libra wrestling was the original inspiration for the World Wrestling Federation, now known as WWE.

Now, the latest trend in Mexico is a group of effeminate male wrestlers who belong to the group called "Exoticos."

Mexican professional wrestler Maximo, who's a member of Exoticos, is often spotted in a hot pink mohawk haircut with a matching leotard. He often pirouettes right before knocking down his opponent and then kisses them.

Maximo says that showing his soft side isn't as easy as it seems.

He says "It’s kind of hard playing this part, no? Especially because the sport is about being tough, rude and violent. But as long as the public loves us, we’ll be there."

Apparently the Exoticos have been around since the mid 1970s but are just now experiencing a revival in wrestling.

They are described as being strong characters, but yet sensitive guys.

Who would have ever thought that a group of grown men throwing themselves all over each other would ever be considered "gay"?

Let's hope they stop hurting the emo kiddies, though!

      I'm really not surprised all the mexicans love that type of crap. I was once at a very heavily Mexican laundrymat on a sunday morning. they were watching some crazy Jerry-Springeresque talk show, and the host was playing a trick on a handsome guy by pairing him up with a drag queen. and OOOOH what a surprise when the drag queen pulled off her wig! I swear…everyone in the laundrymat was laughing hysterically. Not to mention every time I click past a spanish station, there's always a midget being hugged by a big-breasted woman in a bikini. what's up with that????       I just got back from a trip to Guadalajara and saw a Lucha Libre match and outside before the event I purchased a 5 x7 of Maximo because his picture was too funny. Once I got inside I and saw him in action, I realized he was the "gay" character. The crowd would scream "besos, besos," kisses. The crowd seem to love him. One of his additional signature moves was to shove his ass in the opponents faces as well as yank his leotard to be a thong. He was the only "Exotica" that was there our night. I highly recommend seeing Lucha Libre when you are in a town that has it. The crowd may be more entertaining then the actual wrestlers. The crowd yells stuff at each other and the wrestlers the entire game.

      Please do some research before you blog. The WWE was not inspired by Lucha Libre. Lucha Libre is a type of pro wrestling made popular in Mexico. Luchadors are known for their high Flying acrobatics and fast paced 6 man tag matches. I've been watching wrestling since I was very young, and I have always enjoyed Lucha Libre.

      mexican tv hasnt lost its form or "entertainment". Remember Milton Berle use to do this drag years ago, but now it would be offensive. Mexican are pretty loose when it comes to homosexuality.
