Nina Garcia has left her job as Fashion Director at Elle magazine…..and it's not pretty.

Word on the street is that she was "let go." However, there is no official explanation for her sudden departure.

It remains uncertain if this development will affect Nina's role as a judge on Project Runway, but we'd hate to see her go there too!

We've all noticed Perez's absence on the weekends since he's become such a social butterfly/party animal himself. The only downside of Perez/Mario's eminent updates is that he usually feeds us some very uninteresting Saturday evening/Sunday morning pics and captions that are very dull and uninspiring. His trademark wit and cutting edge news rarely returns anymore until a sudden barrage on Monday. When we all have work to do.

This all started because it was between Anne Slowey and Nina Garcia to be a judge on 'Project Runway', and Nina got it. I heard that Anne Slowey even got a face lift along with some other work and sent her into a mid life crisis because she was so upset that Nina got to be a judge. Anne Slowey was jealous of Nina getting to be the judge on “Project Runway” and has been trying endlessly to get Nina fired. Well now ELLE thinks they are big and bad with a new reality show on the shitty CW and they fired Nina.
I”m sure Nina will be laughing when the entire CW network gets cancelled and Anne Slowey is back to her boring life. ELLE messed up big time. They just lost half their LATINO readers.

Nina Garcia Still 'In Talks' With Elle, TV Beckons

While it's true that Garcia is no longer fashion director at Elle, an inside source at the magazine says the Project Runway judge turned author is "still in negotiations" with the powers that be at the magazine.

An announcement could come as early as Monday.

The end of Garcia's tenure as fashion director seems to have been foreshadowed by the arrival of Joe Zee, Elle's creative director. Following in the path Garcia forged as editor-turned-reality star, Zee is slated to be the magazine's newest editor-turned-television personality. He and fashion news director Anne Slowey are wrapping production on their first season of Perfect Fit, Elle's sophomore reality television effort that will air later this year on the CW.

But don't count Garcia out yet. She's reportedly talking with Harvey Weinstein and Bravo about new television projects. And interestingly, says our spy, Garcia could still be involved with the next season of Project Runway regardless of how things play out with Elle.

Nina leaving Elle has been in the works some time now - I was told (by a third party who has ties to the mag) that she was not well liked and had burned lots of bridges. The plan had been to fire her all along - so this could have been the official heave-ho or she decided to leave because she knew what was coming…
