The meopause network, Lifetime, is working on a shitcom based on Teri Hatcher's memoir, Burnt Toast.

The book is about a fortysomething single mother who wants her daughter to learn from mommy's mistakes.

Sounds like a watered down, suburbia version of Gilmore Girls to us.

Although it's unclear what her role will be in the show (producer, occasional guest star), kudos to Teri for using her fleeting Desperate fame to do something that will hopefully give her a paycheck once the ABC show is over.

On second thought, it's probably Hatcher's 'people' that make things happen. Need to give credit where it's due!

      Fleeting "Desperate" career?????? Perez….. she's had 2 hugely successful TV series. Way more than most. You need to be educated in what fleeting means. Her show is still on top of the ratings. You really should be careful because, somuch of the time, you sound so jealous and envious. Just be careful not too sound too much like an eighth grade gossip girl. Try to be part of a man.

      Why is Perez so hostile to Teri Hatcher? Did I miss something? Because she seems to be really nice and down to Earth for a TV star. She drives an old van, focuses most of her attention on her daughter, does charity work. I've never heard her say a bad word about anyone else…and she's had a pretty rough life so she would be entitled to some bitterness. Is she bad because she's not a talentless whore like Paris? I don't think her fame is fleeting either, because this is her second hit series so far and I'd be willing to bet there'll be another after this one.

      I read Burnt Toast. Borrrrring. My own life is more exciting but because I don't know how to write a screenplay, I can't get anyone interested. And I did not enjoy her charitable performance on AI; it was an embarassment.

      She's actually known in Hollywood for NOT having a publicist and handling a alot of her business. I'm sure she has management that has expedited the process of making this Lifetime show happen, but you can't say she's not hands-on.

      I guess I just mean that if you're going to joke about someone in Hollywood being a diva with "people," it's not Teri Hatcher.
