New ways to make money!

According to reports, ABC late night talker Jimmy Kimmel Live will be integrating 'live' commercials into its shows.

Because people are skipping past commercials, the TV folks are having to come up with 'different' ways to hit us over the head with advertising.

Regardless, we like 'live'! More likely that we'll see a fuck up!

Kimmel please do these things in a funny, not so annoying way.

We'd love to see "I'm Fucking *fill in advertiser's name here*" spots…live!

The first live commercials on Kimmel are expected to begin in May.

      Is this a new way to promote in-show advertising? It's probably a more elaborate way of saying: "We're gonna make Kimmel drink Coca Cola in a very obvious way while hosting the show!"

      Maybe if the networks didn't load shows down with so many commercials. As it is, there's only, maybe 40 minutes of programming in an hour block. That doesn't count the endless promos and ads that appear on the screen during the show.

      I love Jimmy Kimmel. He can do no wrong in my eyes. If he wants to do an "I'm fucking" song for every advertiser–it's OK with me. Throw Sarah in for the chorus and it's perfection.

      Commercials rarely work. I usually ignore them or "zone out" during them. Note to ABC, WE'RE NOT ALWAYS CONSUMERS!

      i saw one of those last night for KFC chicken wraps. It was so lame. He had three people in a skit focused on KFC. It wasnt even funny.

      A loong time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…Johnny Carson use to do "live" commercials on the Tonight Show. One that comes to mind is the Alpo dog food commercials with Ed McMahon and a real life dog. Funny.

      That shit was stale when "The Honeymooners" was being filmed. It was pioneered on a little technological marvel called "radio". Back in the 1920's.

      This is a great idea for advertising with technology like tivo and apple t.v. people don't have to watch commercials anymore. this is where the stations make their money.

      Haven't you ever watched the old reruns of Groucho Marx and Milton Berle? The original commercials were done live right along with the show itself. So it's not the NEW way to make $$, but the old way!

      they did this sort of stuff on the dana carvey show back in the 90s and managed to make it funny. here's hoping they can do it again.

      Hitting us over the head with advertisers??? You mean they way you do with all the ads on your page or the ads that are disguised to look like a post you did?? Besides, how else do you think TV Networks stay on the air,,,,,with advertisments, so they are not a bad thing if you enjoy your tv shows.

      They do this on hispanic Tv ALL the time. They have been doing it for decades. Its kinda awkward and a bit annoying because it will be in the middle of a show. The hosts will be trashing some celebrity or presenting the news and all of a sudden they turn to each other and go: "well pedro, your teeth really white today" and he'll be like, "Thanks Paty, ive been using Blanquitin toothpaste. Then all of a sudden they zoom out and theres all this toothpaste product on their table. Really, really cheesy.

      It's very "I Love Lucy" old school advertising and it will likely be a BIG improvement over a lot of the bad ads they show now. It will make the show more interesting to watch - and to see his product pushing power. Scripted? Ad Lib? Hmmmm…
