Perez, I really would have expected you to be more sensitive and reflect that 33 people died in the Virginia Tech incident. When people don't reflect on the death of the instigator it bring back memories of Columbine and the white cross memorials parents made for the students –consciously excluding two crosses.

As a VA resident, a sister of a VT student, and a GMU student, I want to thank you Perez for stopping to remember the tragedy of that day last year. To the few on here who say this is no big deal, people get shot everyday, I am appalled. This was a mass shooting, a tragedy that should never happen again. 33 lives were taken, all but one, innocently…Virginia, rural VA at that doesn't compare to Brooklyn or wherever, things like that don't happen here, and should never happen anywhere else, regardless of where you're from.
    GMU loves you Hokies!!!!

    Re: Rach
This is a very sad tragedy, and I will keep the victims and their family in my prayers today.

I think that the most important thing we can do to make sure something like this doesnt happen again is to work with children at a young age. Children need to be taught to be kind. All of the people who commit these heinous acts of violence were ridiculed and taunted their entire lives, and they cannot take it anymore. It's very sad. Children need to be taught tolerance, love and kindess. Yes, I understand that kids will be kids, but sometimes things go too far. Hating on the web through sites like facebook and myspace are very destructive and hurtful to children. This is where it needs to start. KIDS STOP HATING!

If you feel that we are honoring a "white" school .. then Racist black ass to a BLACK blog site who loves to put down other races.. These students lost their lives and deserve to be honored in some way .. The shooter did not think tiwce about what color he was shooting.. You do know one of the victims was black right? Maybe you should catch up on the news and get your facts straight.. thanks perez for showing respect to the victims .. That's all that matters!! I'm a student at Tech and though I wasn't affected directly, it hits hard no matter where you go. Recently with the NIU shootings, we reached out to them because everyone was so supporting of us on this terrible day 1 year ago. If people want to comment with hate, you're adding fuel to the fire and are no better then the people who use hate to justify their wrong doings. We do reach out to the family of Cho on this day because, though he did this to our community, he wasn't well and needed our help. We have to learn from this tragic event and change our ways. Be friendly, reach out, and love life.

Thanks for your support Perez, truly appreciated by our Hokie community and today, thats everyone in the world.

R.I.P to those whose lives were lost, hopefully you are now in a better place. This day will be remembered forever! I cannot believe that people are still saying "first" on a tragic event like this, they must be sick in the head! Another thing i cannot believe how racists some are being! Being racist just builds up conflict, yet in a tragic event people still are! I certainley do not knaow how racism has got anything to do with the virgina tech massacre! Didn't you guys learn anything from this TRAGIC DAY??? And yaya (#80) when you say asians, not all asians go beserk, there are many types of asians and they all come from different countries and different religions and different cultures like hindus, muslims, people from china, japan, phillipeans etc. IT'S NOT ASIANS WHO GO BESERK IT WAS JUST THAT GUY WHO SHOT EVERYONE! I hate it when sum1does something wrong & da race s/he belongs to gets brought down for it! The only person who has gone beserk is you! So i suggest you close your mooth and keep quiet if you have not got something sensible or appropriate to say yaya(#80)!!!!
Again R.I.P to the lives that were lost, you will always be remembered!
    MAY GOD BLESS YOUR SOULS!!!
