RIP
RIP
Let us also use the memory of this tragedy to make sure that we take measures to prevent something like this from happening again….
FIRST! and I didnt know any of the people who died so I cant remember what ive lost. Its sad and horrible tho. The world is full of crazies , its scary this stuff could happen anywhere anytime to anyone.
So sad. We are all grieving today. We stand with the Hokies!
sad
That is very thoughtful for you to post. I cannot believe it was a year ago already…
May we all be honorary hokies as we honor and remember those who have passed.
yes
FIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT
We Will Never 4get.
Thank you for your recognition, Perez. As a Virginia Tech student, this is a particularly difficult day for us all, but the reminder that the nation and the world still stands with us is incredibly comforting.
neVer forgeT
Prayers to them.
so sad
I am from brooklyn people get shot everyday here so this is nothing new to me.
Aww…
Thanks for the reminder Perez, what a tragedy.
Perez, I really would have expected you to be more sensitive and reflect that 33 people died in the Virginia Tech incident. When people don't reflect on the death of the instigator it bring back memories of Columbine and the white cross memorials parents made for the students –consciously excluding two crosses.
Thanks, Perez.
Love,
A Virginia Tech Hokie
Thank you Perez. It means a lot that you said that. We all are healing here at Virginia Tech and thank everyone out their for their support
remember those who were injured too, and whose lives have been changed forever.
so sad. i'll never forget turning on the tv and seeing that.
virGINA tech?
virginia tech!
R.I.P
Thoughts and prayers to the injured and lost as well as their families who deal with this everyday. Thanks for posting this Perez.
Maybe its time for some new gun laws america?
Worked in the UK. We had one gun related school tragedy, changed the laws on gun possession, and nothing that horrific since.
RIP those who died, honour them with an amendment.
Maybe everyone could do a random act of kindness in their honor. Sounds corny - don't butcher me - it was just a thought.
*******
And maybe we could embrace peoples differences.
:(
when white people get shot and die it becomes news….i just don't get it. people get shot eveyday, give me a break!
Although I never heard the melody, I loved the song R Kelly composed for the tragic massacre..
I hope everyone takes some time out of their day to pray for them:)
RIP to all those innocent souls. something like this should never happen, but in our world, seems to b happening more and more… let their memories b eternal.
wow, perez, you're awesome for remembering to put this on your blog. i don't go to VT, but i have friends that do, and i know they'll appreciate this. congrats for showing your support.
10 years ago today my grandpa died of cancer.

My daughter is a student at VT and my heart is so heavy for those affected by the shooting. Thanks for acknowledging this day Perez!!!
Thank you. I graduated in Dec and am still a blacksburg resident. I personally knew people who passed. It is hard, and every single person that thinks of us helps a little bit more.
We miss you Stack.
Thank you Perez. This is a sad day for all us Hokies.. and a reminder to appreciate your friends and loved ones always. Live for 32.
thank you for remembering us. we may just be a small school in rural virginia, but the hate felt there that day is seen all over this country and the world. lets watch out for those around us, fellow brothers and sisters. may all that died be remembered
Blah blah blah …. why must we dredge up the past bullshit all the time. Let it go.
Re: hatzumomo – Educate yourself. An extremely culturally and racially diverse group of 32 was lost… And we miss each of them everyday.
Thanks Perez for remembering Virginia Tech!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE HOKIES
Thanks Perez! Awesome that you would remember this! Makes me like you EVEN MORE!
God Bless the students and their families.
thank you perez

a hokie
Thanks for the acknowledgement, Perez. Our community is still grieving and the support is nice, regardless of some of the ignorant comments posted earlier.
Class of '97
Thanks Perez, as a Virginia resident I am grateful. Today and everyday we are all Hokies
When I read that people were dressing up as Virginia Tech victims for Halloween last year it made me sick and sad that the world had become a place where the tragic death of another was a joke to some.
RIP Matt Gwaltney, I miss you.
God bless the families of VT students. I was a freshman at residence in university last year when this happened and it really hit home for me. My heart broke, and still breaks, for those kids. Really that's what uni students are….still kids. It's hard to think they lost their lives so young.
Re: Jay –
Cho 'conciously' shot and killed 32 people that contributed a lot to our society. Why should he be exalted?
Thanks perez and to all those who have supported us this year. We are Virginia Tech.
thanks for your thoughts perez, neVer forgeT to live&love for 32.
Did everyone forget about columbine?
RIP IN LOVING MEMORY OF THOSE 32 ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya know, just because you live in brooklyn and people get shot all the time doesn't mean you should be numb to it. while it may be "nothing new" to you, anytime innocent lives are lost we should feel sorry for those victims.
Re: Tonia – Re: Tonia –
when white people get shot we cry…give me a break stupid bitch!
Thank you Perez for remembering VT!
~a Hokie fan from Grundy VA !!!!!!!
r.i.p.
Thanks PEREZ! THIS MEANS A LOT!
these people got shot because they bullied that kid…same thing with columbine and any other white school tragedies! get over it…more people are dying of humger around the world, daily! what about them?
Hey Perez, thanks for remembering us today. As a Hokie, it is a hard day for all of us. Its nice to know that people are still thinking about us today, on the day that changed all of our lives forever. We live for 32. neVer forgeT
RIP Emily Hilscher…we miss you everyday.
One of the victims lived donw the street from me. I remember I heard the news he was one of them that was killed. What a horrible day, he was a kid heading in a good direction. Sad the world lost him. R.I.P. Ross and all the otherss.
We will we remember you all! Thank Perez, for the remembrnce
As a Virginia Tech alumni thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I would also encourage anyone wishing to remember those lives losts to participate in the Hokies for Life campaign and donate blood today in honor of those lives lost. Thanks.
As a VA resident, a sister of a VT student, and a GMU student, I want to thank you Perez for stopping to remember the tragedy of that day last year. To the few on here who say this is no big deal, people get shot everyday, I am appalled. This was a mass shooting, a tragedy that should never happen again. 33 lives were taken, all but one, innocently…Virginia, rural VA at that doesn't compare to Brooklyn or wherever, things like that don't happen here, and should never happen anywhere else, regardless of where you're from.
GMU loves you Hokies!!!!
They didn't get shot because they "bullied him." The shootings and the victims he chose was all done randomly. But yeah, RIP.
Re: Rach –
This is a very sad tragedy, and I will keep the victims and their family in my prayers today.
I think that the most important thing we can do to make sure something like this doesnt happen again is to work with children at a young age. Children need to be taught to be kind. All of the people who commit these heinous acts of violence were ridiculed and taunted their entire lives, and they cannot take it anymore. It's very sad. Children need to be taught tolerance, love and kindess. Yes, I understand that kids will be kids, but sometimes things go too far. Hating on the web through sites like facebook and myspace are very destructive and hurtful to children. This is where it needs to start. KIDS STOP HATING!
Re: hatzumomo – You are horrible for making comments like these. Any death is a tragic death. These people and this school deserves to be recognized and thought about. We're not asking you to think of us, so keep your horrible, hurtful comments to yourself. You have no idea what was going on on this campus one year ago. God Bless the Hokies and the 32 in heaven.
Thank you for remembering our lost Hokies, Perez. We will never fully heal from this tragedy, but we will prevail. WE ARE VIRGINIA TECH.

If you feel that we are honoring a "white" school .. then Racist black ass to a BLACK blog site who loves to put down other races.. These students lost their lives and deserve to be honored in some way .. The shooter did not think tiwce about what color he was shooting.. You do know one of the victims was black right? Maybe you should catch up on the news and get your facts straight.. thanks perez for showing respect to the victims .. That's all that matters!! And block that piece of shit from submitting from his computer that was invented by Alan Turing which is a WHITE man! k thanks !!
It's always the Asians that go berserk and do this sort of thing. Happened at my school too. An asian killed a teacher that was in a wheelchair because he thought she had a "computer chip in her brain". I say we send these crazy gooks back to where they came from.
Re: hatzumomo – why don't you go hatz somewhere else, oh and learn how to spell hunger dumbass. God bless those at VT and those who died.
Thank you Perez for writing this. I live in the Blacksburg area and lost 2 dear friends a year ago today. Thanks for using your influence to help keep their memories alive.
Thanks for the support Perez!!! I'm a junior at Virginia Tech, and this has been a hard day for us all here in Blacksburg. I love your website and you OF COURSE..and just wanted to say we appreciate your support!!!!! neVer forgeT. WE ARE VIRGINIA TECH!
Thank you Perez. the Hokie Nation loves you!
For today we are all hokies…
The University of Mary Washington is with you Virginia Tech!
Re: shay –
What difference does it make it make who iinvented the computer and weather he was white or black?? Ur just as bad a hatzumomo!!! That there opinion, it is a free country last i checked. Just take a moment of silence for the victims, that why perez said something about it!!! Grow up children!!!
Dude, 40,000 other people died that same day and hundreds of millions more since.
thanks so much perez for putting something up…VIRGINIA TECH LOVES PEREZ!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perez, as a student at VT and a reader of your blog every single day, I just wanted to say thank you for thinking of us on this day of remembrance. I appreciate it very much, as does everyone here at Virginia Tech. We will prevail, we are Virginia Tech. And it is thanks to the gratitude and sympathy of people like yourself. =].
