The problem is that it is spent wrong. It is spent on administration and unions. So what I fear is that all of this nonsense about not having enough money is just accepted as a given and more and more money will go down the black hole called SCHOOL DISTRICTS. Ask your parents how much they pay in property taxes….wait until you pay property taxes….there's enough money, it's just spent wrong.

I am totally all for wanting children to have enough for general living (toothbrushes of their own, etc.), but wouldn't the problem of children living in poverty be solved if people planned better financially before getting into the "parent trap" of starting a family in the first place? Who are these people breeding who can't even afford to care for them in the long term?
What a great cause. I donate to my community school fund every year. I just think it's amazing, separate from the newscast and charity, how much Brad Pitt's mannerisms are so similar to the rest of his family! Hello, New Orleans is in the United States - Springfield isn't the first time Jolie-Pitt money has gone to U.S. projects. Loved what Doug said in an earlier interview, 'KIDS ARE KIDS, WHETHER AFRICA, NEW ORLEANS OR SPRINGFIELD." While a few American kids may possibly die immediately, I KNOW millions of African kids are in imminent danger of dying without immediate medicine, food, water & shelter. I don't mind if most of my donations go to them. It's kind of like New Orleans after Katrina, other kids across America needed food/clothing/shelter - but the Katrina survivors needed it more. People died because they didn't their medicine.
Yes, bless the Pitts & Jolie-Pitts, Newmans & other celebrities who help. Brad & Angelina never claimed to be the only, or first, or best, or most generous philanthropists - they just do good.
