Skins may be coming to the US of A.
The hit U.K. TV show is pretty much "Teens Gone Wild" - lots of underage sex and drug use!
We're a bunch of prudes, so of course the US broadcast network version would be a watered down. Unless, HBO or Showtime picks it up!
The UK version is written by a team of 'hip', young writers. In fact, one of the episodes was written by an 18 year old!
A Brit TV exec says, "One reason why the audience has taken to Skins is because it doesn't preach."
Yeah, kids get enough annoying yapping from their parents and teachers. Lettem watch their peers have sex and get high in peace…sheesh!

Re: Max – No. Irresponsible people make irresponsible choices in life. TV immitates life. Not the other way around. If a teenager decides to make adult choices in life, then that's their decision. You can't go around blaming TV for peoples actions, or else we all would be screwed. If parents and other viewers have such an issue with what their family is watching or what they are watching, there is a simple solution: DON'T WATCH IT.
SKINS is prolly one of thee best shows ive ever seen..i kinda dont want other people to know how great the show is..bc thats how great it is -its like a secret society haha- and im not gonna lie i dont want the new series to come out if theres no Tony in it…WTF!

THIS SHOW IS AWESOME - but loses it in Series 2. This will be a tough sell for HBO or Showtime because they will take a lot of heat for it.

i'm from america and i only follow the show because i have a friend in england and erm, it's an amazing show and i would just about die if it came over to america.

I swear to god, if Skins gets watered down to be broadcast as some puritanical American bullshit, I will go postal. This show is good because it's smart, funny, and doesn't gloss over the irresponsibleness of being a teenager. I've seen every episode of Skins online, but I honestly hope that it doesn't get broadcast in the U.S. on anything other than pay cable because it will SUCK.
P.S. Mitch Hewer is a fucking hottie too…which always makes the show more watchable

skins is the best show on TV (before it finished for the end of series 2),
it maybe a bit crazy and push the boundrys a bit on what should be shown on TV but it just shows teenagers exactly what they know is happening in the UK and around the world etc, and its just hilarious, and i love it

SKINS is by far one of the best programs to come out of the UK for a long time! the acting is superb and although some storylines can be far fetched…with all these things happening to the same group of friends….it still seems so real!!

I just discovered this show. It was pretty awesome at first but it got really lame toward the end of the series (just watched the last episode) I wont give the spoilers away but it sucked ass toward the end.

There is no underage sex in Skins. In the U.K the age of consent is 16. Anyhow, Skins is a great show and there is actually a good plot running through it, not just a load of sex and drugs. But if it is watered down it will be crap.

I agree with Megan, I am from Canada and my boyfriend lives in the UK so I watch it all the time and it is a really amazing show but it's sort of a really cool secret haha, sort of like james blunt and leona lewis were before they got here, i bought his CD almost a year before it came out in North America.. But i guess in the spirit of sharing I would encourage everyone to watch it, it rocks

Do any of you people have kids? Why would this be an acceptable form of entertainment for anyone? It's hard enough to teach your kids right from wrong. To try and teach them values that will help them be descent people. You make fun of people like Amy Winehouse and then you think this show would be great to have on in the US. What gives!!!!!….I'll bet Perez wouldn't endorse a show that encouraged reckless behavior for dog owners.
