Skins may be coming to the US of A.
The hit U.K. TV show is pretty much "Teens Gone Wild" - lots of underage sex and drug use!
We're a bunch of prudes, so of course the US broadcast network version would be a watered down. Unless, HBO or Showtime picks it up!
The UK version is written by a team of 'hip', young writers. In fact, one of the episodes was written by an 18 year old!
A Brit TV exec says, "One reason why the audience has taken to Skins is because it doesn't preach."
Yeah, kids get enough annoying yapping from their parents and teachers. Lettem watch their peers have sex and get high in peace…sheesh!

i've seen two episodes online and they seem ok…but it seems more like the UK version of Degrassi to me…
however I have also heard that the first season was way different than current so…maybe i haven't seen the really good episode yet.
and one character I really liked was written off so… yeah…not cool writers!
being from the uk i watched this programme every monday at 10pm without fail series 1 and 2 .. it has made me cry and laugh !!!
ITS THE BEST PROGRAMME IN THE WHOLE WORLDDD.. bring on series 3 !!!

Skins doesn't glamorize sex or drugs in any way. In fact it does the opposite and portrays in an adult and relevant manner the dangers teenagers face when these things are so easily available to them. The show may look flashy and fun but the message it delivers certainly isn't. It's the best thing on TV and Britain and just for once a show has been created and carried through that didn't treat young people like idiots or unthinking yobs.

I am horrified at YOUR lack of decency and YOUR incredible SMALL mindedness branding ALL europeans as having no sence of morality and decency. You talk about decency……..I feel you are a prude, the sight of a nipple or an arse is disturbing you so much however I find American TV/films extremely violent I would rather see a sex scene any day ! American programmes paint the perfect picture which is not reality since when do they have fat people in them ??? however most of the population is overweight, most of the American students are or have experimented with drugs, alcohol, sex ect its a FACT of life !! Maybe HBO should do a spring break uncovered style programme !!( that would shock you ) British programmes like SKINS and SHAMELESS show ONE side of a diverse society and portray's it pretty much like it is…. good on them for not burying their head in the sand and painting a pretty picture which just doesnt exist ! For those of you who love skins try shameless !!
coming from the uk myself, skins is great as what you see is the way 16, 17 and 18 years live. my friends and i have friends exactly like everyone of the characters and thats why people love it. its reality.
I am a 16 year old that lives near Britain and is European, never drinks, smokes, does drugs, has sex etc. but loves skins - god people its a great show - just accept that and enjoy the show!

skins is thee best show on tv at the moment, a watered down version would be pretty shit though…. i love it, teens know about this stuff already its not like the show is educating people or showing then that taking drugs and shagging about is good but it just shows how some people live,

Skins is awesome!!! It's just like watching real. I don't feel that it glamourises anything, it just shows how things happen in real life without sugar coating and heavilly preaching anything!

I live in the UK, and I have watched the show.
Its the worst. show. EVER!
Each person has ridiculous problems. One of them is being stalked, another one IS the stalker, another one gets hit by a car and becomes mentally unstable, and all the while there all having sex and drugs and going to parties.
I'm from Ireland and I FUCKING LOVE SKINS.
The 2nd season just ended and I cryed LOL.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but Fox had a show like this that never took off. It was like a more sex-ed up version of the OC. It was cancelled in 3 weeks. Lol!

Dear It's not MY fault……The real point is that we all need to set a good example for the youth of this world. That would be called acting responsibly. I now what the truth is. I've raised three teenagers. They are each their own, independent individuals. I now what it's like to experiment with sex, drugs and many other things as a young person. As a parent I put my children first and have done my best to be a good example to them. I raised two of my kids as a single parent for 12 years. The other was my step daughter. Her mother didn't want her so her father and I raised her. …….don't think that you can teach me anything about the "truth" as you see it. You don't know what truth is. You obviously do know a great deal about selfishness which is the main reason we have so much shit in this world. People are too selfish and put themselves first. As I've said in my posts before. …I know I'm a sinner….so here is one for you…..until you've made sacrifices for another persons life and lived your life trying to be a good example and doing for others….you can kiss my ass you stupid, ignorant waste of space.

I watched some episodes on youtube. The accent is hard for someone whose native language isn't English.
One can't reduce it on sex & drugs. Most of the characters prove a lot of love, companionship and cordiality to each other. "Skins" shows much more appreciation than this vile website.
Just Tony reminds me too much of Tom Cruise. Ugh!
