Well, for all intents and purposes, I really hope that this was just some stupid stunt on her part. I'd give her a passing grade for all the reactions, but still, it's sick. I hope she's lying. I'm going through a program so that I can volunteer as a counselor with out local crisis pregnancy center. Unless she is trying to bring awareness to the abortion issue by doing this she is sick. There are over 5,500 abortions preformed in the U.S. every week. Just think, perhaps someone that could have found the cure for cancer, someone that could have helped with world hunger, someone that could have found the cure for aids….might have been aborted.

Re: kelly – Having an embryo vacuumed out and inducing one's own miscarriage through pills- herbal or Rx are both extremely painful processes. At least you can be sedated when having the surgery but the herbal pill experience pains can be compared to labor pains. neither are fun.
The source of the reported hoax is definitely not very credible. As it is obvious by his lack of bias in detailing how her work is a hoax.
What isn't really clear is how interpretive her work is and her methodology. There is a lot of feminist art that has been done with menstrual blood, or even "The Scroll" (google it).

Unfortunately it does not look like she is lying. I was bored so I googled her name and there are a few forums from Yale saying they know her and she is serious. One said that saved the "goo" in the feezer until she put the project together. Someone else mentioned she would inject sperm into herself at the fertile times of the month and a couple weeks later take the herbs to cause an abortion. Apparently she announced this last week to her class but it just leaked out now since she spoke to the Yale newspaper. Either way she is a sick ass individual for thinking this up and needs to be locked up. Its an outrage that it is legal to purposely get pregnant just to abort the baby. That's one of the worse things about this, that she can't get charged for the multiple murders she committed.
I'm pro-choice, and have had an abortion; my experience was emotionally devasting but I thought it was for the best for all parties invovled. But this small minded stupid girl is hopefully a huge liar or suffers from serious mental illness. Either way, her parents should have aborted her years ago!!!!!

If this idiot is taking herbal meds to induce miscarriage at the very early stages of pregnancy (which I imagine is the case because further along would probably require medical intervention), then what she's doing in filming etc is basically the same as if she were to film a heavy menstrual period. I couldn't agree more!! When I first read this article, I had to think how Yale didn't swoop in and actually demand proof of what she was doing. Even though she claims this is an "art project", any student conducting an experiment, which she really did, has to follow certain rules. I'm surprised there wasn't some sort of ethics committee to come in and tear her to pieces. She is slapping every woman in the face that has had to deal with a miscarriage, as well as other couples who are desperately trying to conceive to no avail…bitch needs to be stopped and called out on her bull…she is a disgusting, yet clever (since we are all talking about her) human being, no better than any other person using gross, shock inducing antics for a mere 15 minutes of fame.

It would have been pretty cool if she would have come up with a number of natural ways to induce a miscarriage, without ever having to include medical ways, wether by pills or abortion.

I have misscarried 8 times. At 35 I have 1 son (lucky) and am about to have the operation to take it all away. I have never once thought as a life inside me (and not made full term) to be art. This child needs to see a doctor abut some very severe mental issues.
