    I had a cockatoo of the same variety and they are wonderful pets. She acted more like a dog than anything else. She'd follow me around, even outside. She never attempted to fly away and would come when I called. She danced like this one, and she'd sit in my lap and lay her head on my chest, then fall asleep. They're very smart.

    I think this bird is special and I'd have no problem having it around. It's cute in a strange sort of way.

    I agree with a previous comment. Although I am so happy to see her doing well, I think people who abuse animals should have the EXACT SAME abuse (ie, being kept in a BBQ!!!!) done to them because obviously they don't know what it feels like or they wouldn't do it.

    I think this is a great humanities story…it helps to shed light on the wonderful work that the Humane Society does. Whoever posted as Perez (really hoping it wasn't the actual Perez as I would be seriously disappointed) that it 'looks like a tasty chicken dinner' should be ashamed! It's NOT funny, it's NOT appropriate, and it makes you look and sound like an ass. The comment was on the actual site of the story, not here.

    Oscar is the most beautiful, resilient and tenacious bird I've seen. I have a bird with a similar condition and I know what Oscar has gone through. She looks so happy with the caring staff and I'm glad she has a nice home now. Its such a heart-warming story!

    The guy who put her in the BBQ grill, however, should have a stick through his arse, the whole body marinated in bird excrements and grilled to perfection. I'm sure it'll be perfect dinner for some hungry vultures.

    Perez, I have gotten both of my adorable dogs from the HSBC and saw Oscar. She is a very nervous but beautiful bird. The story was a tragic beginning with a good ending. And everyone at HSBC loves her very much Thank God for the animal lovers out there!!!
