The baby is actually only 8 days old as of this moment. Cate went down to Canberra when the baby was 5 days old to take part in a 2 day summit on idea's for Australia's future direction, she was heading the arts committee. She is obviously superwoman. Hope the baby gets some time with his mum now, she's been pretty busy in Iggy's first week of life………

Little Iggy is out and about because his mummy was invited by our new Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, to help with the Australian Government's new intiative for community consultation… called 2020, it is aiming at taking public opinion into consideration to solve societal issues into the future. Cate was responsible for co-chairing the Arts Committee and she did so just days after getting out of hospital with little Iggy… now that is a supermum! No nannies either - just her playwright husband waiting outside the room in Parliament House (the White House equivalent to you Americans!) with their new third son. Cate for Prime Minister!

I heard that Iggy was in fact due two weeks ago and so when Cate committed to the 2020 summit she was expecting to have a two/three week old baby. After going overdue Cate was offered the chance to step down from the chair of her stream at the summit but felt well enough to attend. Apparently her husband was there to take care of the baby between feeds and Cate fed him when necessary and changed him in meetings if required. That's how most mums' do it too. We are all SUPERMUM!
