The NEA isn't all it is cracked up to be, however I do understand that it is the government . Only if you do folk art and traditional things will you really benefit. Individual artists can't apply for grants, you need to belong to something like a museum. Today, it is a very different program from what it started as. The Kennedy's had it right, artists should be praised for their talents. However the NEA sure has some guidelines for what are is…. If you've learned anything about post modernism and Robert Mapplethorpe it won't see so great. They are definitive in what they call art. Worthy cause done the wrong way.

The National Endowment For The Arts is a pathetic joke.

Perez, why don't you tell everyone how their money will be used. You don't get to pick and choose who receives the $'s. Remember Piss Christ? That's where the crucifix was dunked in a vat of urine and it was called "art". Donate to something else besides this one please!

You're exposing millions of people to charitable causes. Making an imprint in so many minds. You continue to be AWESOME! Perez, you can change the world! You're an angel.
Gotta go…another worthwhile cause to study!
    Love you!

Hey guys, the National Endowment for the Arts is a very important organization. I'm a professional symphony musician, and the NEA helps keep us in business. Programs that we play for schoolchildren are partially funded by the NEA. Learning music and taking music lessons is proven to help kids to do better in school, stay out of trouble, and lead more successful lives.
Thanks for bringing this up, Perez!

I worked for the NEA's Poetry Out Loud program(that's where the pic Perez posted is from…that girl was amaaaazing!) I agree that it is the more traditional arts that benefit, but anything that brings artists into schools is a good thing and deserves our support.

Perez, seriously, the National Endowment for the Arts? What a joke. I would never donate a penny to them. Do some research into what you're asking us to give money to.

And another thing, just because you've hit the jackpot doesn't mean the rest of us have. With gas and food prices going through the roof, most of your readers aren't going to have extra money just lying around to give to crackpot organizations like the National Endowment for the Arts.

I'm happy that things are working out for you, and I'm glad that you're giving a bunch of money away, but seriously, stick to the celebrity gossip.

Give it the fuck up Perez. How much money are you getting to promote all the orginizations? We all know you're selfish at heart, and the people who don't realize and think you're oh so generous & caring…should stop being so damn naive.

Fuck already Perez!!!!! I'm warning you I'm gonna stop coming to your fucking site!

You are not Jerry Lewis! Stop with the fucking telethon! No, wait, it would be easier if you were Jerry Lewis cause then you would only promote ONE FUCKING CAUSE!!!!!!!!

Get it together and FOCUS on ONE CHARITY

Thank you for the causes on your site. The National Endowment for Arts is something that I fully support as someone who has been involved in theatre for a number of years.

What is up with all of the requests for donations, Perez? Are you by chance being paid by all of these organizations to plug their donation requests??? It's kind of annoying being bombarded daily with these pleas for money! Stop it! Stick with the gossip!

  29. tetzy says – reply to this

    29

I'd rather "donate" the money to a street whore for a quick blowjob.

    That's a worthwhile cause.
