Cancer survivor and superathlete Lance Armstrong is running the Boston Marathon today to raise money for the Armstrong Foundation. Yes, as we type.

In an interview with Runner's World he mentioned that he hoped to finish the grueling 26.2 mile Boston run in about 2 hours and 40ish minutes.

This is Lance's first shot at the Boston Marathon.

He's currently running a 6 minute 33 second mile and expected to finish the race at 2 hours 51 minutes.

DAMN! We can barely get through the 12 minute mile that our trainer makes us do!

Bostonians get to 'heartbreak hill' and cheer Lance and all the runners on!

Let's hope he finishes at his goal time!

UPDATE: Lance Armstrong finished 488th in 2 hours 50 minutes and 58 seconds.

      I saw Lance as he started this morning in my hometown :) He looked great and was very focused! He ended up finishing in 2:51, which is 5 minutes slower than his NYC Marathon time but that's really good for Boston which is a CRAZY course.

      Lance dropped by the Atlanta Athletic Club last July. He was is town for some charity event and played a round of golf here. In the showers I couldn't help myself and decided to sneak a peek. He laughed and pointed to both balls. He said, " One's fake and one's real." Guess I wasn't the first to look 'there'.I apologized for looking and he said 'no big deal'…he was a terrific guy and I was embarrassed but oh so happy to see him in the shower. The guy has no body fat. Incredible.

      Re: ELAINE – He's actually not on steriods. I've watched the Tour de France since as long as I can remember. I know everything about it. I know that you WILL be disqualified if caught doing steriods (and you WILL get caught doing them). Just like last year when a few guys were caught doing illegal things but claimed they didn't know it was illegal but did it cause their doctor told them too. They all still got disqualified. The Tour is a big deal and they don't take shit from anyone. There is no way Lance could be on Steriods and still be allowed to ride in the race. It's called training. Hours and hours of training.

      I saw lance running today, i wasn't quick enough to get a picture, but he had a couple of trainers running with him and the guy next to him was on his cell phone telling his wife he was running with lance armstrong, it was pretty hilarious
      Anyway, he had an amazing time and looked good when we saw him at the 16 mile mark

      I think this is awesome…maybe he should try the 100 mile marathons next. My father is doing one this summer in southern VT and hes 57. Def wont finish in 2 hrs 50 minutes but hopefully under 20 hrs. People who run all these crazy distances are just mad, if you ask me. so yeah, go lance!

      i biked with him in the LIVESTRONG Challenge last year in philly.. he is extremely eloquent, gracious and an overall great person.. all y'all are basing your judgments off of what you see in the gossip magazines.. that's a great basis.. were you in the relationship between him and his wife and also the relationship with sheryl crow ? no ? oh, okay, so you can't really comment on what happened between them.. just wondering

      Also, for anyone to ever put down someone who has had cancer has no idea what people go through.. get your heads out of your asses and have respect for those who actually fight the disease.. it's much easier to give up when the cards are not in your favor.. lance is someone to look up to in this respect

      third of all, he's an amazing athlete because he trains insane amounts.. any medical study will show that professional athletes have bigger lungs than the average person, making them better than 90% of people in this world.. as in NOT just lance, but you can call it drugs if it makes you feel better.. and yes, he was beaten by others, but hey, he's a professional cyclist who decided to give marathons a try.. gee, why didn't he beat everyone during his second marathon, which happened to be the boston marathon ? it's what was usually happens ? i can't believe he didn't just jump into the olympics in a snap

      and for the people talking about their timed mile.. can you sustain that over a 26.2 mile run ? right, just wondering

      i've seen lance at his best riding many tour de france races and other bike races–he is truly a world class athlete–a total machine. bike racing hasn't been the same since his departure as no modern rider can match his ability! no one knows anything about his personnel life–all speculation from the jealous–and who in this group of detractors is raising money for cancer research at such a spectacular level. shame on all of you!
