The troops that are currently fighting have never once fought for OUR freedom. They have spent a trillion dollars creating plenty of new enemies for our country, but no, they are not fighting for our freedom.

also, we might as well try and help our troops since they're already out there! The truth is we should have never have gone to war in the first place! However, mistakes were made and weapons of mass destruction were proposed. And after all these allegations were proved to be false, it was too late as we had already began war and meddled.
It is now far too inappropriate to remove our troops, whether we like it or not due to the fact we have created a war zone. We can't just create a mess and leave! So if you were in agreement with the war or not… that is irrelevant. The point is they're there now so we should show our support. Each individual soldier did not agree to go to war… this was the country's decision and they were merely following orders. Let's not punish the people who are brave enough to risk they're lives for the country. Their aim to protect us… blame the country not our men! Give to this charity to support them. Support our soldiers… not the war.

Thank you for posting this! My husband is currently in his 14 month of a 15 month deployment. It has been a hard deployment for his unit and several are recovering from serious injuries sustained in combat. Support has definitely faded the longer the war has gone on. Funny how supportive people were following 9/11 when it was 'cool'…where is everyone now? Bet if there was another attack you would see flags pop back up in people's yards and yellow ribbons on cars. I would love to see more support on your site Perez! You are a huge influence on so many people! Thanks again : ) And for lack of better words to David (who posted our soldiers should be shot) F YOU! Just because you Support the Trrops DOES NOT mean you Support the WAR. They are seperate things. These people were told to go there and do what they do, it is their job. Weather or not you support them, you should respect them. Most of them are in their early 20's and being killed off by suicide bombers and land mines. Can you imagine, and if they dont die, they come back with limbs missing or blind and therfore cannot work to the full capability they once did. Can you even imagin staring death in the face for your country? WOW. I cannot believe what some of you are typing. I fight for this country and do it with honor. I have yet to go to Iraq, however will see fighting over there. I don't care if you disagree with the war, please support the troops. If it weren't for the current troops or troops of the past, you wouldn't be able to spew the hate your talking about. Talking to friends that have been to Iraq, they love it. All the media focuses is on the bad things. However you never see the troops giving food, water and aid to the people over there. Thank you for posting this. As a soldier, it's been very hard to see friends come home wounded. The amount of care that is needed is amazing. One coworker has already had 8 surgeries on his face and lost an eye. One of my girlfriends has had 4 surgeries on her arm and almost lost it. Some of these guys (and girls) come home in pretty bad shape and it's always great when people help out.

Supporting people who support a war is the same thing as supporting the war. They are getting injured/killed because they chose to put themself in that situation. Noone forced them to be there. I PROUDLY do not support the troops.

We already support our troops. We pay our taxes in every paycheck, in every purchase and once a year we need to do our taxes. Every penny goes to the government most of the money is spent in defence, so isn't the governments job/duty to pay for all this not for us the people to donate money too and if our goverment can't do this why are we fighting. People put their lifes on the line and we can't even make sure they are well taken care of this our government EVERYONE should be asking to bring these man and woman back because the government is not willing to provide for the troops. Every single person who signs up for the military does so in the knowledge that it will be their job to murder other human beings. They know that they have that capacity in them, or at least they want to believe that they have that capacity in them. I do not support our troops at all. If someone thinks that they can kill another human being, then they should start with the people at the top of our own government. If they don't start with the people who are ACTUALLY causing the problems then they are just uneducated, uninformed, blinded by patriotic propaganda and useless to most of humanity. I think it's a great idea. The USO is a very reputable organization. If you check them out at give.org, you'll see that 86% of the money you donate goes towards programs…that's a great percentage.

Our troops die for their country. They might kill people in the process but not just because they want to but because they have to do what they have to do to keep themselves alive. In Iraq they believe killing themselves and others along with them is an honorable death, they kill civilians on purpose. Troops don't do it unless people are a threat, of course accidents may happen. Don't tell me that you think those people in Iraq are innocent. Even if we weren't there they'd still be killing their own people.
