It's Earth Day!

As she does every year, the Divine Miss Bette Midler planted a tree on Tuesday, in commemoration of Earth Day.

Hopefully you're already doing your part to be as green as possible.

Yeah…its Earth Day and going green is good, but we need to make informed choices. Stop/don't use biodisel fuels made from corn…farmers are widely stopping production of wheat and such to make money selling corn for ethanol purposes. The US for the first time has had to IMPORT wheat. We need to produce food for EATING first!

Compact flurescents have mercury, I don't care that "they" say it's a small amount because if the government is telling ALL private consumers they will have to use them, that makes a lot of mercury going into landfills. I haven't heard a reliable way to dispose of these bulbs. I hate when the gov't makes choices like that for me any way. My cents..Happy Earth Day all.

Good for Bette Mildler but in Washington DC Casey Trees planted more than 75 trees during the whole weekend of Earth Day and in fact are planting trees thru out DC every weekend til May 3 with citizen forester volunteers and DC community voluteers. Casey Trees has been planting trees in Washington DC for more than six years already.

Want to help the environment? Go vegan. You simply cannot eat animals and claim to be an environmentalist any more than you can own a slave and be in favor of civil rights.
