      Perez, this isn't anything new that you are "reporting" … Pirates are one of the biggest threats to ships in the Western Pacific and around the African coast. They've taken many hostages, including Americans. Many have been killed. Do some research. You aren't ahead of the rest on this one.

      There have ALWAYS been pirates in these waters. The only reason it has made the news lately is because of the high end French yacht that was attacked. They took hostages and it was a boat that was form a western country. Both are outside the norm for these pirates. Shipping vessels and even tourist vessels have been frequently attacked. Usually unsuccessfully.

      There has always been pirates. But in the modern world you seldom hear about them. But they definately exist in asia, africa and in the caribbean. So stop pretending that its something new!!

      When carjacking got out of control in Rio, people started putting flame blowers on the bottom of their cars so when a carjacker came near, they'd get toasted. Not relevant…but funny!

      I don't care if it's been a long time since they are pirates on that zone, or if Perez needs more travel or not, the only thing I care about is that an spanish fishing ship was kidnapped two days ago near Somali, while they were working on international waters as the law allowed them. They were attacked with grenades, and all the tripulation are right now captured. 26 men, 13 spanish, 13 africans… I think this is more serious than people who write here even believe. They're not rich frenchs on vacation, neither any dubai's sheikh. They are workers that spend most of the year away from home working hard to survive.

      I do international news, and there's stories on Pirates pretty much every week or so. This is nothing new. It's been a problem for a long time.
