Mariah has the #1 album in America this week, despite failing to come in at the top spot in the U.K. She only came in at #3, behind the Kooks in first place..
Though official numbers won't come in until Wednesday night, it's projected that Carey's E=MC2 debuted to a pretty massive approximately 475,000 copies sold.
The album had been projected to sell around 500,000 units.

You can HATE, but the album really is good, its not one of those records you can just play and bop to, you HAVE to sit and read along with the lyrics — the stories are there to be told….and if you are going to critique, you MUST read through the lyrics with the song and then talk…but NOT til then — the album is a GEM!

If I'm not mistaken, this will be Mariah Carey's best first-week (in terms of album sales). Half a million copies sold in its first week, that's impressive — the album is already Gold! Congratulations, Mariah! I'm more into rock music, so I've never bought a Mariah Carey album, but after hearing "Touch My Body" I decided to buy the album on iTunes and I must say… it's fantastic!
