Mariah has the #1 album in America this week, despite failing to come in at the top spot in the U.K. She only came in at #3, behind the Kooks in first place..
Though official numbers won't come in until Wednesday night, it's projected that Carey's E=MC2 debuted to a pretty massive approximately 475,000 copies sold.
The album had been projected to sell around 500,000 units.

Mariah spent less then 3 days in the UK promoting and was only on 2 shows and did a couple radio interviews and a signing a week and a half before the album came out. She hardly bombed and this is her best opening week sales in the UK. Stop mentioning Madonna, it's so irrelevant.
