But there's so much crapola (crap) in order to get there. It's just too painful. At my age, they would have me playing grandfathers and great grandfathers. That's not a heck of a lot of fun. I'd rather go back to the theatre, actually. But that's not going to happen. I'm pretty satisfied with my life right now. I write every day for at least a couple of hours. I exercise a little bit. And then it's time for the old folks to go to bed."

Atleast he doesn't try to desperately stay on top by taking every shitty role coming his way (ahem, de niro and pacino…). Hackman has always been great in everything he's done and I can't remember a single "painful" movie that he would've been in, unlike the other two.

You have too much class for this industry. Unfortunately you don't smoke crack, go out into public without underware, or drive your car into other people, therefore, hollywood doesn't know what to do with you. This guy is tough and he is a great actor, it is sad that he's retired cause he's really good. But it is true what he says, Hollywood is all bullshit, including this website, Perez is such a media whore.
Got to love him…he is one classy actor. He didn't stick around and get plastic surgery like some actors (Al Pacino) but decided to got out with class. I love all his movies and will miss him.
