Mimi's Madonna Diss

Mariah Carey recently did an interview for Spain's Shangay Express magazine.
And she took a few not-too-subtle digs at the one and only Madonna!
A reporter from the magazine flew to New York to interview Miz. Carey and witnessed the divaness first-hand.
First, the album listening that was scheduled for 6pm was postponed ’til 9pm. The interview, which was supposed to take place at 9pm was posted to midnight. Then after hours of waiting, at 2:30am, they cancelled the interview since Mimi was too tired.
The next day, the reporter was invited to attend an MTV TRL taping. In total, Mariah had 11 people surrounding her, consisting of bodyguards, assistants, makeup peeps, label reps and wardrobe assistants. Now that's the way to travel!
Finally, the reporter gets the interview, with 3 hours left to spare before their flight departs.
Some of the highlights from the interview include:
- When the reporter asks if Mariah's obsessed with portraying an unreal image of herself via photoshop, Mariah denies the claim stating that everyone uses photoshop in the business. Everyone.
- When asked about Madonna (how dare that reporter mention that name infront of Mimi!!!) and how she feels about her Madgesty recording an R&B album, Mariah responds that it's "interesting." Then pauses, and continues, "It's very interesting."
- When the reporter mentions that Madonna worked with Pharrell (who also worked with Mimi), she asks if Mariah gave her some indirect inspiration. Carey responds, "I don't know, I don't have any idea about her intentions. I'll just say that it's very interesting."
- When questioned about creating her own clothing line, Mimi responds, "I'm working on my own collection of lingerie, darling. Why shouldn't I dedicate myself to under garments?"
- And when asked if her "diva demands" get worse over time, she responds, "What is over time? What is a diva? I know a lot about divas because it's a word I've heard ever since I was a little girl, because my mom is an opera singer. Diva demands? I don't think I have any. I'm a person who can take care of myself, you believe me, right?"
Riiiiiiiiiight.

Mariah may be a diva, but she pretty much beats Madonna at everything. she even made $80 million off Glitter.
Being a lifelong Madonna fan and only liking Mariah Carey's earlier work, I have to say that it really didn't seem that Mariah dissed Madonna in any way. So big deal, she said it's interesting; that in no means projects that she was "dissing" Madonna. This is blown out of proportion.

From the start Mariah Carey has never been too big a fan of puppet pop. She did not care for the NKOTB. (If I had only listend to her and saved $$ & my summers)
Magazines go in knowing they could get shit on.. but they always can make a star bleed when their interview hits print. Its just a matter of how long they want to wait unilt they get another interview window.
I love Madonna too, but keep in mind that her shiny #1 was a duet with Justin Timerlake, and before long bighead should be telling the world that it was all him.
Now if she had hit the top of the charts by helfself it would be cause to think on it, but the JT factor is just like her being on Britney's song MATM.
While Madonna is classis, she is not the even close to being the artist that is Mariah Carey.

First: Artists are late all the time. They often have to reschedule for media. It's unfortunate, but it happens.
Second: Mariah answered the Madonna questions appropriately. Do you think the writers would have had the nerve to ask Maho what she thought of Mariah?
Um, NO. The interview would have been OVER.
Third: Who hasn't been photoshopped?
Fourth: Reporters who go in with an agenda usually get crap interviews. These guys were agenda mongers.
Fifth: Diva demands? Isn't that part of an artist's public personna?
And of course, Mariah did what any artist is trained to do: Move the brand forward and don't say anything TOO mean.
Does she hate the left side of her face??? (Her left) She is ALWAYS photographed at some sort of angle showing the right side of her face while her hair is over the left. Is the other side of her face hideously scarred or is she just becoming one of those crazy Hollywood psychos like Barbara Streisand who will only let people film her from one direction?
Mooriah is such a cunt! She only gets away with her diva demands because people put up with it. If people quit catering to the bitch then maybe she would quit being such a bitch!

Mariah is a MUSICIAN. Madonna is a genius at co-opting others' musical abilites to further herself. NOT THE SAME THING.
