The persecution you go through is vastly outshone by countless other groups of people who, much more grateful than yourselves, are going through actual oppression. How many people die from starvation each day? How about war? Disease? Now how many gay people are killed each day because they are gay?
   As for the non-gays who are staying silent in support: Stop trying to be "in" with the gay community. You are charlatans of the “holier than thou” variety who parade around acting as if you are so great for "caring" about people. You are just like the pseudo-intellectuals who put up “Save Darfur” posters as if it matters. It is just a fad for you, in all your teenage angst, to latch onto so you don't have to face the reality that, as an individual, your personality lacks substance. And for the few of you who are naïve enough to actually care, realize that what you do doesn't impact anything of cosmic and long-term importance!

    Dear Perez,
    I do not understand your constant comparison of Madonna and Mariah. Isn't Madonna so much older and established? I see her as a history as the ultimate purveyor of what is new and challenging. Remember when she burned the cross or released the Sex book? Remember when every girl was dressing like her and she was in "A League of their Own?" I do not see how Mariah's career- while illustrious, dramatic, and positive- matches Madonna's. The difference in each singer's voice range favors Mariah, but her cultural implications seem limited as opposed to Madonna. Wouldn't this also explain why Ebay price disparities exist? It should also be noticed that Madonna has a decade or more on Mariah. I would really appreciate an explanation if you have one!
