Brooke Hogan and her nine member TV show entourage have had a hell of a time finding a place to film 'reality'.
The failed pop star has been given her own reality show, set to air on VH1, which is currently shooting.
Brooke's been shopping for a college and wants to take America on her collegiate journey. But, Florida universities just weren't into playing along with Brooke's 'reality' game.
Administrators at the University of South Florida, Florida State University and the University of Central Florida said NO to Hogan's request to have her big ass camera crew follow her during guided tours of their universities. The schools thought the presence of Hogan and the camera peeps would disrupt things too much on campus.
Yup, everybody loves a good freak show!
And of course, Brooke and crew wanted to film during the schools' exam weeks.
How pissed would you be if some stupid reality crew disrupted one of your big exams?
Way to stand up to Hollywood, academia.

i graduated from fau in 2000, it is in boca raton, with little branches in jupiter and some other places. i live locally and my parents couldnt afford to pay for my boarding and other expenses if I went off to school. it is a good school. perez do you really know anything about the school other than brooke hogan filmed there? so how do you know that is sucks?

Once upon a time, FAU was the equivalent of a community college. For the last 10 years the University has been growing in popularity based on merit. Before you slam this school, look at some of the hard to find majors offered by FAU. It's not a glamorous campus, but the students at FAU are there for the education and not the social life. The programs offered are extremely challenging, and rival any major university. Like any school you get out of your education what you put into it.

Yeah I definitely heard the hype about this one… seeing as I go to Florida Atlantic University. It's not that bad, Perez, I promise… It's just a newer school without much of a reputation yet, although I must admit Rent-a-University isn't exactly the shining image I'd imagine they're going for. She was at the school all day yesterday and the day before trailed by two golf carts filled with camera crews. While her prescence didn't disrupt my finals studying, I'll admit that the incessant gossip in my classes was annoying.

To a few previous comments:: FAU's Main Campus is in Boca Raton, off Glades Road. There is another campus called FAU Honors College in Jupiter, off Donald Ross Road.
To correct "Mr. Smart" Perez… FAU is becoming one of the hardest schools to get into in Florida… so watch out. And FAU Honors College is even HARDER to get into than some of those "big name" schools mentioned in your post. FAU Honors College you HAVE TO live on campus… very expensive… and very hard to get into. Just thought I'd clarify

I go to FAU and it is not a joke. I will be graduating from there in the fall. Nobody even knew she was there because I was on campus on Tuesday. It is not babysitting for rich kids. And to the person who goes 2 FSU and said you guys are classy up there, I got news for you. I went to FSU for a year, I left because the school sucked oh and I had a 4.0 GPA at FSU by the way so it is not hard, and the only class up there is the actual ones on campus.
I am a college counselor at a local South Florida High School and it is not that easy to get into FAU. Granted it is easier than FSU, UF and UCF, but it's just not that easy any more…. I really like your website Perez, but you should do some research before you post things.

As a PROUD student of FAU I am happy to say, that we are situated in a town that is one of the classiest in Florida. Every school up north is HICKTOWNS-R-US! I graduated from high school down here, and am extremely happy to say that my good friends who went to schools like UCF and FSU are coming back to FAU because its a real town and has more than 2 dirt roads. How disgusting of you to put down a school like ours. It has more spirit than ever before. Brooke Hogan came down on two days, one when we technically did not have classes, and she took a TOUR just like everybody else. The second day she came back for this amazing Bonfire to celebrate the awesome scrimmage we had and how successful our football team was this year BEING THE ONLY FLORIDA SCHOOL TO WIN A BOWL GAME! And for all you idiots thinking that because you go to a school up in shit hole Florida your gonna be worshiped, well, your not because it doesn't matter where you graduate from, its if you do something for yourself and get a degree thats worth the studying. FAU is growing incredible amounts. Its not as easy to get in any more. The classes are taught by real PROFESSORS, were getting a HUGE gym built, and an amazing stadium. We also just announced that were going to have a program for PhD degrees. Most of you wouldn't even know this because your communication and elementary education majors.
I would be absolutely livid if her camera crews disrupted finals week. As a college student, many times your finals are half your grade in the course and in some instances, your whole grade. That's what they will get out of it. Try going to FAU and participating in the academics, sports programs, and special events. I went to FAU and absolutely loved it!! It has a great business school. It was ranked #7 in the nation for the CPA passing rate and known as the most diverse school in the country. My friends from around the globe taught me so much about myself. I had experiences there that I will remember for a lifetime!! FAU is probably allowing this to happen because of their non-bias views. (FYI: They hosted the Florida Primary Debates.) They welcome anyone of any race, background, sexual preference, etc… with dignity. To experience a reality show is a lifetime event. FAU students will mind their business and proceed with their day casually observing.

Okay, firstly to all my FSU classmates, how many times has your academic decision been bashed by UF students? I'm sure plenty of times. So why turn this around and bash other schools? The only reason why UF has the highest SAT and GPA is because more students apply there than others, which will drive up the averages since schools cannot increase admission rates. All schools in FL have rolling admissions, therefore none of them are Harvard. Plus why does "rankings" mean anything to any of you, YOU'RE ALL IN UNDERGRAD! What goes into rankings is mostly research dollars and named professor, which undergrads rarely get to see. Also remember that every school has programs they're ranked higher in then the others, if you want to go into film you go to FSU, if you want to go into hospitality you go to UCF. So everyone just get over yourself, because you're all going to college and what school you chose was your own academic decision.
#143— You're not helping your cause. FAU has had PhD programs for almost a decade now. I was in one for a year, then found out what total crap it was to be on the fastest growing campus in terms of enrollment in the country…. with no effort being made to build infrastructure to keep up.
Wonder if the campus still looks and feels like a prison…..
