Uuhh, why do we need to find a resolution to the 'mess' in Florida and Michigan? They were warned if they bumped up their primaries, the delegates would be disqualified, they did it anyway. It's their own fault their delegates don't count, so stop fucking whining about it.

  12. ekenney says – reply to this

    12

There is no mess. They said they wouldn't count but Hilary ran anyway. Now she's crying over those delegates. Well, guess what, they don't count and she needs to get the fuck over herself. If she really wanted a resolution, she would just let it run its course. She doesn't even deserve the delegates where BARACK WASN'T EVEN ON THE BALLOT.

There was a solution. It was for both Florida and Michigan to not hold their primaries. It was for Hillary to do what John Edwards and everybody else did, and take her name off the ballot. Seriously, if it's fucked up, it's because she did it for everybody.

  31. Christine says – reply to this

    31

They can't allow the florida and michigan results because Obama wasn't even on the ballot because they broke the rules. To "fix" it would require holding new elections which the states, party and candidates can't afford!

A better fix would be for Hillary to come back down to reality and drop out since there's no chance of her beating Obama without asking the superdelegates to go against their constituents and the country.

    Obama/Edwards '08!!

  32. kan4obama says – reply to this

    32

um..no the answer to the mess is that they dont count if obama would have won those states would hillary be fighter for them to count? dont think so…she's just as bad as bush and mccain..its important people..if you're going to talk about politics be educated about it..its not about have a first black or female president theres serious problems going on and we need someone whose actually going to do something about it..the clintons only care about winning its true…they can careless about the people..we NEED obama..its a turning point in american history are we going to remain a superpower or watch it go right to china while we waste all of our resources in iraq and hillary wants us to fight Iran!!! Iran has done nothing is things like that we have to be worried about…
    OBAMA 08

  33. tj says – reply to this

    33

They came up with a solution last year. They all decided that the delegates would not count. THAT IS THE SOLUTION! Hillary Clinton's signed it right along with all the other candidates now she's losing and wants to win nothing new, but guess what the solutions in the books. MOVE ON!

  34. Sarah36 says – reply to this

    34

And sorry…Florida and Michigan will never count, they broke the primary rules

  35. Obama=Hypocrite says – reply to this

    35

How can Obama's supporters demand that the superdelegates vote Obama for the democratic nominee "because he's got more popular votes" while ignoring Florida and Mischigan? Take those states in consideration before accusing her of "stealing" the nomination.

  50. Maggie says – reply to this

    50

The solution is that Hillary needs to give up on Florida and Michigan. Early in the race, she agreed that those votes would not count because Florida and Michigan broke the rules and voted too early. Now that she's losing she wants to count those votes (despite the fact that Barack wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan!)….how can that be fair???

No one likes a sore loser, Hillary.

  51. deenums says – reply to this

  54. Carmen says – reply to this

    54

There is no mess in Florida and Michigan. Those states knew what they were doing when they did it and now they suffer the consequences. They should have thought about it before they changed their primary dates.

  55. debbie says – reply to this

    55

    that looks so freaky!

  56. frustrated at Perezes continual discussion of politics says – reply to this

    56

The resolution is that they aren't counted. Sorry, but they broke the rules and knew this would happen. They can't count those votes now because none of the candidates campaigned there and Barak's name was not even on the ballot. Of course, Clinton was going to win there.

  57. dhgroove says – reply to this

    57

"We NEED to find a resolution to the mess in Florida and Michigan. Must!"

Yea, its called either splitting it 50/50 or not counting them AT ALL, because they KNOWINGLY BROKE THE RULES, and BOTH CANDIDATES agreed to those EXACT rules.

This race is over. Obama has run. Only way Hillary can win is to tear him apart, and when by by superdelegates, which would be against both the popular vote and the pledged delegate vote.

That would utterly destroy the democratic party in a year that we can win this by a landslide otherwise.

Using replublican smear tactics against a fellow democrat is SHAMEFUL.

Hillary is fighting for Hillary, not for your, me, or anyone else. She's already proven that.

  65. Courtney says – reply to this

    65

That looks like a mugshot of Hilary. She is a really bad person. She and Bill wrote in all this stuff that they donated to the good will (like tax deductions) and that cheap bitch wrote in for each individual pair of underwear she donated. EW! Cheap and gross!

  66. Obama will win, obviously says – reply to this

    66

Michigan and Florida aren't possible. State officialy messed up and the DNC removed the dems names from the ballots. Unless you plan on going up against the Sec of State for the US, MI and FL are out.

It seems to me that you are just bitter that your Hillary isn't winning. How many more scare tactics doesn't she have to spew before you realize that she will do anything (including lie, accept campaign contributions from questionable lobbyists, and bash her fellow democrat) before you realize that Hillary isn't an honest and ethical candidate??

We cant handle the burden of the Clintons…it will break this country up into fragile little pieces….

    70

RULES ARE RULES! What kind of mess would it make if they said, "Oh–just kidding! You won't be punished for going against the rules and voting early" Come on. Petty and childish is what I call Hilary's camp. These are the consequences!

  71. ruffmama says – reply to this

    72

every vote should count. this is the united states of america. united is the key word.

  73. mimi says – reply to this

    73

FYI, SC and NH also moved their primaries. The democrats chose to let these 2 states pass. Little did they know that Hillary would win NH! It is a conspiracy!

  74. AnnArborGirl says – reply to this

    74

We made our bed… Why should we (MI/FL) get to be THE deciding factor when we broke party rules to "make a point?" As a Democrat, I believe this is embarrassing and an indication of the level of our disorganization. Can you imagine what a force (for change) we would be if we could get our shizz together?

  75. read a newspaper says – reply to this

    75

    1. There has already been a resolution w/MI and FL. The states broke the DNC laws. THEY F-CKED up.
    2. Even if they counted the votes, Obama would still win, so get over it.
    3. Perez, stay out of politics. You're really bad at it. You're hurting your own party and you don't even know it. Or, you do, but you just like the "hits" on your site. Totally lame.

  76. mike says – reply to this

    76

I want obama, but if it takes hillary to get in and to show the LGBT community she don't give a fuck about you all, than so be it. We already have a solution to the "mess." The delegates won't count. The mess isn't what is happening NOW, but what happened when Florida and Michigan decided to break the rules. You fucking idiot.

  83. Mia says – reply to this

    83

    Re: Christine
You moron! Obama was on the ballot in FL! Get your facts straight!

  84. oh PLEASE! says – reply to this

    84

There is a solution. It's quite obvious. Florida and Michigan were told LONG before they voted, and the candidates understood LONG before the election the votes would not be counted because they choose to circumvent the DNC guidelines. Therefore, Barack Obama and John Edwards chose to focus their energy on other states and "fair" elections, like the ones had in the other contests thus far, were not held. The ONLY plausible to way to count the votes, is to have a revote, with the State funding their own elections. You have to follow the rules, or you get burned.

however, STOP POSTING POLITICAL CRAP PEREZ! I can read this sht from Drudgereport.com or mydd.com

  85. Go Obama says – reply to this

    85

There is no mess, it's over–they made their choice and the votes don't count. I'm sick of Hillary's bitching and whining. Face it, you lost, be a good loser instead of a bitter whiner. End the Drama–vote Obama.

  88. Anon says – reply to this

    88

Perez. I live in Michigan. Here's the thing. Barack's name and Edwards' name wasn't even on the ballot. People didn't hear ’til the last minute if they didn't want Hillary they could vote "uncommitted." The primary was against the rules. Michigan signed an agreement they would follow the rules, then they broke them. When the DNC told Michigan their primary was against the rules and no delegates would be seated, all the candidates pullled out except for Hillary and Dennis Kucinich. Because the DNC told them the delegates would NOT be seated. The Michigan Party officials knew this all along. All along. I think they should split the delegates 50/50 and make them all pay a huge fine for breaking the rules. You gotta have rules. You cannot have fifty states and Puerto Rico all deciding they can do whatever and not have any penalties. I think the people who run the state party in Michigan should be fired. They are total assholes. I am sick of all thestupid games these people play. I didn't even get a chance to vote. I was for Edwards. Now I am for Obama.

  89. jrw says – reply to this

    89

ewww, creepy, especially the right side!

  90. Jaya says – reply to this

    90

NEITHER NEEDS TO COUNT. Michigan only had Clinton on the ballot, no Obama (really now, where's the fairness in that?), and neither candidate was allowed to campaign in Florida because the state broke party rules.

RULES is the key word there- the DNC put up these restrictions after the Bush-Gore debacle, and it's FL and MI's faults for breaking them.

I understand you have a clear bias Perez, but read CNN every once and awhile. Or read the New York Times, they need your support (and you need the political knowledge.)

  91. nasty fool says – reply to this

    91

    down with obama… he blows

  92. Sophie says – reply to this

    92

You know, I wish I could combine the two, but Hillary's the one showing command of the subject in each and every debate she goes to. It's freaky. He's a good speaker, but when he doesn't have his teleprompter and his prepared speech (that someone else wrote for him), he's really not all that impressive…
I can't even believe this has gone on as long as it has…It's SO obvious that Hillary is the better candidate…The only reason he can promise change is because of his inexperience. And the little he did do reeked of 'politics as usual' (read up on his time in the Illinois-Senate and how he sued all the other candidates in an election once…Or read about how he supported the seating of FL-delegates until he lost the primary and then got his lawyers to block a re-vote…).
What IS change anyway? What does he mean by it? In concrete terms? His wife tells us he's gonna "heal our souls". I'm not sure if I want people to talk like that about presidential candidates…I don't wanna join a cult! I want to fix the economy. I want universal health care. I want someone who's really clear about what they want. I'm not gonna believe someone's gonna change everything just because he says he will!!

    Hillary all the way!!

P.S. I'm so gonna buy that Time-issue. Hot cover.

Why is it that the only ones crying about Florida and Michigan are the Hillary fans that are afraid she's not going to win? I've never had any respect for
Hill or Bill since the whole Monica issue. She may be a fighter that doesn't give up but the fact that she didn't give up her lousy husband that humiliated her publicly just shows me she doesn't know when to say when. I have no trust in either one of them as they will say whatever they have to so they can get want they want no matter the cost.

You know, I'd love to see a black president too but I'm not into Obama. He's done nothing for the black community he now rides on. Instead he's been raising thousands of dollars for suspicious muslim activists. The guy's a muslim.
    .
I am positive that Rice will run for presidency one day and she's going to have a good chance at winning. She's black and a woman so why should we cry over Hillary or Obama? ;-)

I dont any of you idiots see the irony in this cover. This is directly taken from the NBA add for the 2008 NBA Playoffs where you have a split screen with two opposing players saying how there can only be one NBA champion, same idea with this. There can only be One Democratic Canidate. And Second. IS THIS STILL GOING ON? I gave up on the election last month, i cant belive this crap is still going down. Waste of time and loss of interest. Lets just end it already.
