Today is the day of silence!
I tried not talking yesturday with my school, boy was that ever hard
SO he was gay? Well the bible says no man shall lay withanother, SO not saying he should have lost his life BUT I understand.
GOD BLESS and READ THE BIBLE.
perez you rule but you need to check yourself. you post things like this yet half of the shit on your site is laden with semi-homophobic slurs (or trannyphobic or whatever the fuck)
clean that stuff up please.
And you NEVER call people names Perez…
I'm gonna observe the National Day of Silence on Monday and Tuesday so that all my classes will know
Why does it take a tragic event like this to open the eyes of the people around us? This never should of happened if people in our society didn't have so much hatred their hearts for stupid reasons. Why do we teach children that homosexuality is wrong?
Do they think we want to be born this way? did we ask for it, just so we can get bullied about it? The point is, we are not hurting anyone so leave us alone.
Re: MeaNGurL –
its ignorant trash like you that should automatically be given a tubal ligation as soon as you have your first period!
Perez might stick to causes that benefit G&L community but so fucking what? At least he is trying to help which is more than I can say for idiot whorebags like Britney, Paris, Lindsay and so many of the other "rich & famous" of Hollywood!
I and a few others I know are not only donating but we are also joining in the Day of Silence today!
HEARTBREAKING THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!
ironic since perez bullies people in the closet to come out
Ahem - you propose fighting "name-calling, bullying and harassment" - gee Perez - isn't that what your website is all about. I love how he viciously attacks people he doesn't even know and then pleads for tolerance. Why don't you crawl back in you hole.
A day without fags talking sounds great to me. Make it a week!
I will say, them gays have it tough. You'll find that all gays come from either abusive homes or had/has an overbearing, dominant parent or a broken home.
I really think the gays should take heed and not be so flamboyent about their gayness. It's best to try to blend in like everybody else and keep your sexual desires behind closed doors like most decent citizens do. We know your proud and all but, stop the Charles Nelson Riley act….not only is it stereotypical, it is annoying.
My husband and I used to sit with a couple at the mall for coffee on Saturdays after walking for an hour (yes we're older)…..recently the male part of this couple made derogatory and homophobic remarks. Now he wonders why I avoid him and his wife like the plague….they are like garbage to me now. My husband makes excuses for his old fart friend and says he's the "older" generation…..which is on the way out thankfully.
Re: WHY –
WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN THE WORD OF GOD!
If you are going to be sad and depressed because your a homosexual well cry me a river. GET OVER IT. Im sure you dont even read the Bible.
he fucked up by messing with the other boy. Wanna be my valentine?? get out of here…
Most countries of the world are much more tolerant of gay people these days. Unfortunately, the United States does not appear to be one of those countries. Hopefully the homophobes posting here are in the minority but perhaps that's only wishful thinking.
Re: MeaNGurL – You should care because they're human beings. Your comment is telling. You clearly have no compasion and are self-absorbed and arogant. You'd better hope no one ever asks, "Why should we care about stupid people?", because then you'd get yours.
Re: Ostracized –
I hope your child is gay! see how it feels
Re: HIgh – I do read the bible, and it says not to judge lest ye be judged. See you in hell.
Re: MeaNGurL –
You are the ultimate LOSER!!! You must really have a lot of self-loathing and low self-esteem also.
This is a great thing. I am a university professor, and today students and faculty on my campus are wearing shirts commemorating the day of silence. They've gotten lots of great support for the cause to which we're trying to bring attention. No one should die because of who they are. Nobody should be discriminated against for any reason. I am sad for people who feel otherwise.
Violence isn't the answer? Since when? Why is it that we have to turn the other cheek (not the cheek you are thinking about Perez). Even the Isrealies in the old testament laid the smack down on other people and tribes, wiping them off the face of the earth. Why do we have to sit and take shit from Muslims, Chinese, Raging Queens and Lesbo's, Unemployed know-nothings Jesse Jackson, Al Shaprton and Hillary Clinton. Cut off their damn heads, puke down their open necks, and burn the bodies.
Then we will have peace.
Re: againstgays –
My son is gay. He's a great guy and has a partner who I also love like a son. What is your point exactly?
Fuckin puffs.
What happened to this poor kid is awful and I will pray for him and his family, but how can you come out with a straight face ask for the end of any kind of "name-calling, bullying and harrassment", when all 3 of those are your meal ticket.? You're trying to have it both ways. An abhorrent kind of intolerance led to the death of this poor boy, but that kind of hatred is only an extreme extension of the kind of slander and name-calling you promote. You can ask us to support this cause all you want, but it seems really hollow when it comes from a guy who doesn't practice what he preaches.
OMG he looks like a baby! How gay can you be at this age? Sad.
You know Perez - you encourage us to fight against LGBT bullying and harassment and yet you make a living from bullying/demoralizing/victimizing/demonizing anyone who does not meet your "standards". You comment and discriminate via appearance, gender, sexuality, heredity and even hearsay. I would be very interested to see if you are brave enough to accept people for who they are. I may not like Heidi M , Mariah C, Tom C, Nicole K, Rosie O etc. but that does not justify a campaign of hatred against them, even if your comments are "just" observations. If you are honestly against name-calling, bullying and harassment - post this comment as a main article, encourage your audience to be tolerant to ALL people. I dare you!
Whether homosexuality is right or wrong isn't the point. We all have our reasons for feeling the way we do. I don't believe in bullying someone or making fun of someone or being violent towards someone because they may be different than I am. I have taught my kids to never make fun of anyone and I would never stand for them to bully anyone either. I would kick but if I ever found out that they did these things. I don't know if a day of silence is the answer. Many Christians believe that this was organized to promote the gay lifestyle. That is how it has been presented to us up until this point. My kids don't go to public school so they won't be involved in the day of silence…..parents need to teach their kids not to harm others. You don't have to agree with someone to treat them kindly.
You are never, ever, ever going to stop bullying because we are,no matter what we think, instinctive animals- some of us are mean to the core. The first kid that will be picked on is the "different" kid. And that is usually the gay kid. face it- every kid KNEW something was weird about that kid even if we didn't know what. Most of us didn't give a crap, but the bullies could see that victim in a second. It's as if the gay kids couldn't figure out that everyone ELSE saw it or felt something off about them. And that is the truth and anyone who says it isn't is lying or denying. You won't stop bullying- even by suing schools and parents- because bullies don't stop and they pick the weakest link. Humans won't change- they have built in competition to survive and if that means the meanest humans will bully, murder, rape- well- you better protect the weak and prosecute the bullies. That's why we have LAWS. There is no kumbayah or unicorn tears. By the way, my gay cousin didn't wait for someone to kill him, he killed himself. Maybe he was the most handsome guy on earth.
Re: Ostracized –
That older generation you are so glad are leaving us fought damn hard for all the rights and freedom of everyone. Don't be so quick to judge somebody just because they have a different opinion of you. That generation you speak of had class and knew the value of conforming to society in a decent and civilized way. That generation knew how to behave in public and had decent morals. They feared God and they took accountability for their behavior and they felt shame. They fought dammn hard and endured a lot more than some name calling, MISSY!
Current generations are a bit too liberal in their way of thinking. If it feels good, just do it, right? Who cares who may be looking or listening.
Wrong!
Re: Damien – Good point.
thank you so much perez for doing this for me
please email me
my school is doing the day of silence today in support. thankss perez!
All I can say is I'm so grateful that I will never need to sit in a room with you disgusting, hateful bigots! Seriously, why do you even bother coming to this website?? A child was MURDERED because of who his heart chooses to love. People are murdered, jailed, physically and verbally assaulted and made fun of because of the sexual orientation???? What the heck is wrong with society? Unbelievable! I am so sad that people like you can even spew this garbage!
Thanks Perez - this is an important message to get out there. You can see all the homophobia just in some of these remarks alone….there is a lot of work to be done to help remind people all people are created equal in this country!
yay day of silence
My son was bullied at school for coming out…my daughter is straight and she gets bullied at school! No matter what there are bullies and the bullies need to be stopped! These kids suffer from lack of discipline, lack of supervision, lack of parental nurturing…sheesh I could go on and on…
I am in Kansas and Kansas Department of Education is NOT over the Kansas schools so there is NO ONE to make sure that any bullying laws are enforced except your 7 elected local officials and if they are worthless *cough* as ours are *cough* then NOTHING will be done!
I feel for this poor child and his family…this is just horrible! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!
Personally…I am home schooling my daughter next year - I have the papers ready to go! No more of dealing with these "thugs" on a daily basis anymore for me or my daughter…Cory's gone from home but I would still fight for him anyday of the week…
To those of you who are closed minded and arrogrant…I hope the good lord keeps your children/grandchildren "straight" and "safe" because karma's a bitch!
Hell, Perez, I am not gay, but I like to eat shit and have horses fuck me, help me Perez they make fun of me at school and I don't know why. easy big guy, stick it right in the middle of the pile of shaving cream…ohhhhhh, that's it Trigger a little deeper, now slow down, ohhh your breath smells like molasses and oats ewww!
who is lawrence king?
Re: Madonna – WOW, amen Madonna LOL
i am disgusted with a lot of the homophobic comments - but the really horrific part is that a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD CHILD has a gun - what the hell is wrong with your country that kids have access to guns??!
Larry King is gay?
i think you have it all wrong… you say "Acceptance is vital!" but its not.. in a free society acceptance is optional.. only tolerance is vital
i think the LGBT community should get back to that message.. not only is it actually attainable, but its realistic… besides, I don’t think anyone really needs anyone else’s 'acceptance'
Re: Ostracized –
One day you are going to die too, so don't make stupid, senseless comments like that you ignorant broad.
I think the Day of Slience is a really good idea fuck all the Haterz
pleazzz don't talk shit about perez or ur ass well be stomp
im a out gay person and i get yell @ push shove and other thing but i stand up fo myself i jus put all the negative shit behind me and always the positive (sumtimes)
I feel like crying just looking at this sweet-faced boy. It's so sad that this happened to him.
gay kids have nobody. it's a crying shame. fuck you, straight people, for having the power to change this yet doing NOTHING.
Go to hell.
my school is only one of many participating in Day of Silence for several years now and it has been well received. We had a candle light vigil about a month ago commemorating the life of Lawrence. It is delightful to see someone putting this on a national platform. Thanks Perez
it is SO EZ for straight people to go back to their EZ lives of fitting in without even trying, letting this tragedy go on and on and on. School SUCKED for me. I was busy every day trying to not get my ass kicked for being gay. 40 yrs. later, it is still true: Nobody wants the gay kids. Most of the their parents don't, certainly not their teachers and administrators who are paid to teach, protect, and help to develop these children into healthy adults. Screwed up kids make screwed up adults. If you ever made a gay kids life miserable or turned your back while someone else did, YOU SHOULD GO TO HELL.
Walk a mile, assholes, walk a mile.
Re: Terri –
Homeschool is NOT is the answer. I was home schooled and it really hurt me in so many ways. Teach your child how to live in the "real" world…don't shelter them because you are NOT helping them. Instead, stop these bullies, go to their school, go to the principal, go to the teachers, go to the media….keep speaking out loud every day! I beg of you to rethink homeschool….this is not the answer. May God Bless You & Your Family!
Congrats for this one Perez!! Lawrence King should be the beautiful, never forgotten example of how we are raising our children. My 17 yr old daughter, Rachel, is straight, but for 4 years (12-16yr.) she was tortured. Kids physically abused her & called her every derogatory gay name there is. Just because she was a 'tom boy'. The schools did NOTHING. It has left her tenative & beyond insecure. Parents who raise these hateful people ought to be shunned from our society, and their children treated the same.
i am definitely opposed to the gay issue. I dont accept it, however, i dont think anyone should have to go through harrassment b.c if it. like i said i like it, however, i will keep my opinions to myself.
except this one comment. in my hometown, gay rights individuals want city hall to fly the "gay flag". wtf! this i totally disagree with. like honestly, do us straigt people get a falg? and if we did, can we fly it? lets be serious people, GLBT individuals already have a damn gay parade. like honestly, what the hell more do you want?
I'm From O.X. and that hit home !!
PLEASE people, respect others & stop hating !
May Larry King R.I.P.
Re: MeaNGurL – you must be one of those closed minded people who just pay no attention to a real problem, that so many people are facing.
As a 44 year old Gay male, I can not stress enough how important this is.
Perez readers, This is not a joke!
you know what i feel for his family, i have a friend who killed himself for coming out of the closet and right now i'm participating on the day of silence
Re: Angie – Sorry to get off subject since this is such a serious matter but…
Angie, its really not your place to tell a parent whether or not they should homeschool their child. My parents homeschooled me, not because they were afraid of letting me face the real world, but because the school system in our area was really bad. I had an awesome experience, several extracurricular activites, and friends from so many different walks of life because my parents put me in programs and organizations that allowed me to meet people outside of my "comfort zone." I graduated early and am now on my way to graduate school with a 4.0 GPA. So just as easily as you can say you had such a terrible experience, I can say I had a great one.
TERRI- Look at all of your options-there are so many of them, and most importantly, take your daughter's opinion to heart. Include her in the decision about her schooling. You can always put her back in "normal" school if howmeschooling doesnt work out. You will always get flack from people like Angie, who for whatever reason had a screwed up childhood from decisions her parent(s) made (not necessarily exclusively from homeschooling) or people who just dont get it. You know your family best, and you know your daughter best. As long as your family is happy, who cares what anyone else has to say?
Are you fucking kidding me? Gays have more rights than straight people. You cannot disagree with their views without being called hateful, homophobe, etc. etc. Their agenda is in the schools, they demand teachers instruct kids that two daddies or two mommies is natural, they get tons of federal money for "outreach" blah blah blah.
When is someone going to have a day for the oppressesed average white guy?
This is so sad. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this young child. its sad to see how much the world has fallen apart when children are brought up to hate those that are different and violence has become the answer to every problem.
I do hope that the kid that ended this young boys life is given a fitting punshment for his crime and not just a slap on the wrist.
In this day and age we all need to see each other as equals, there is enough hate in this world, why kill or bully those that we feel do not belong.
We can not change those that we don't understand, however we can except it and move on.
aww….i forgot that was today…and I wanted to do it this year!
Re: GIBBYWIBBY – with a comment like that your the facktard. Grow up. it has been proven that being Gay or lesbin, or even Bi sexual is not a disease.
Thank you, Perez, for using your fame for a worthy cause. The more the silence is broken the less violence and discrimination we will encounter. One voice at a time to stop the hate.
THANKS PEREZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To Me: Thanks for supporting my decison…I can respect Angie's voice as well…
At first, Morgan was against home schooling, she thought she would miss out on friends, etc but she has several friends who are now home schooled and she actually requested, after incidents this week at school, to be home schooled.
As far as the schools here…they don't listen! They don't care!
I heard the "new anti bullying" bill that they are trying to get put through and I had to LAUGH!!!!! There is NO ONE in the State of Kansas to enforce this even if it does get passed! I spoke w/the KS Dept of Ed the other day, Mr Ireland was his name, and he told me that the only people that I had to go to were the 7 elected local officials and THEY DON'T GIVE A CARE!!! They want the title, not the job!
The nice thing about the home schooling here is they have a "virtual school" where they have teachers that oversee the children and they have "functions" for the kids to get to know one another and they have an easy process of reintegration back into the school system if wanted. We are actually looking forward to it!
To be continued…LOL
continued…
I have a very LONG letter that I am working on to send to tv stations, radio stations, newspapers, etc…I just want the letter to be right and sound educated. I don't want to sound like someone who completed the 5th grade and dropped out (I have a college education and I hold a decent job).
Rest assured, I am not going to just lay down and take this I do plan on voicing my opinion but you know what they say…opinions are like a**holes, we all have one! One voice is NOT going to be enough to get this taken care of in the State of Kansas…trust me!
Thank you for this posting Perez! Such a sad horrible story.
how hypocritical is perez?!!, end bullying and name calling?! why doesnt he start with rumour willis?!, pot kettle black !!
Homosaywhat? Is this like a "gay-only" site and the Denise Richards like a cruel joke??
gays aren't the ones who get bullied most in school. actually, when i was in high school, the gays never got bullied at all - it's the goths/punks/emos/etc. gays are just so whiney. get over yourselves, you do not have it as bad as you like to think you do!
I deff just did this at school
i couldnt say quiet any long x.x
Violence IS the ONLY answer.
