Annie Leibovitz is one of the greatest photographers of all time.
She shot some of the most famous and recognizable celebrity portraits.
I saw an exhibit of her work a few months back at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Her talent is breathtaking.

annie leibovitz has been shooting celebrity photos since 1987 when she joined the rolling stones magazine. don't you think that after almost 30 years of shooting, maybe a few images might have similarites? she has won several awards. i am a conservative christian and a photographer and i see nothing wrong with these photos. i do understand however that she (miley) is an idol to many young impressionable girls and this might not have been a very smart step for her. but from an art stand point, these images are beautiful.

Annie Leibovitz is one of the most accomplished photographers in the world. So what if she uses the same kind of idea twice, many people do that, and many people have done nude-except-for-a-sheet portraits, not just her. I bet if it wasn't Miley on that cover, you wouldn't give a care what photos she's taken.

And Diana Ross is not a fifteen year old Disney star, so there is hardly any comparison.

one more thing, leibovitz photos are some of the most world known images. for instance, she shot the last professional of lennon before he died. this was the image of lennon and yoko ono, where lennon was nude and curled up to a clothed ono. this is just one of the many. a few months ago, perez was praising leibovits for her cinderalla images of scarlett johanson. waves tossed by the wind…..

perez you are an idiot, this is a classic pose used by photographers ever since photography was inveted and it was just enamel on a glass plate. maybe you should buy some of her books and check those out. shes amazing, and a lesbian. one of my best friends interned for her for the last year and a half, and was blown away by being that up close to a legend.

Annie Liebovitz is amazing. Those who say she's overhyped don't understand- she basically invented the celebrity glam shot. She's photographed everyone and I mean *everyone* in a Hollywood. I think you've made it when she does you.

I'm a photographer and she's one of my idols. And didn't she start in the '60s? Because she toured with the Rolling Stones and then joined Rolling Stone magazine and hung with Hunter S. Thompson and all that? Legend. Legend.

This whole thing is getting pretty ridiculous. I get that she's 15,but her parents had to be aware of what the photo shoot was going to consist of and they allowed it. This photograph is also not like the ones she has posted of herself, it was done in good taste. Annie Leibovitz is an amazing photographer, and art is always re-done, what's original at this point? It's just something old receiving a make-over. The whole her having to apologize because of that Christian group? Come on, it is her freedom to be able to do this.
