Mario, you ignorant sycophant. You have the nerve to take a shot at Annie, a well respected photographer who has captured some of the most iconic images in celebrity? You say this while drawing on pictures with MS Paint. Irony abounds. What I find further ironic is that if VF was desperate enough to feature you in a profile piece (which, given the state of journalism, they just might) you would be using this very space to gloat about how the wonderful Perez was getting shot by the great Annie Leibovitz. Truth is, you go out of your way to show what a hypocrite you are.

your are absolutely insane perez, Annie Leibovitz is a photography goddess. Not only is she a legend, but she is one of the strongest women on the face of the earth. I don't know of many women who would go on tour with a bunch of men for months at a time photographing there every moment. Kudos Annie L, you truly are fabulosity.

Annie Leibovitz is an excellent photographer. She's taken a lot of memorable photographs. Her fame has less to do with her talent and more to do with her unusual access to the world of celebrity. Unfortunately, the world of celebrity is artificial, fleeting and meant for consumption. And since a lot of Annie's work is based on celebrity it too is artificial, fleeting and more product than art.

This is a "classic pose". Not just for photography but throughout art history you will see sculptures and paintings with women in this pose. It's part of the cannon for classical portraiture. There was art before photography, and if you look back, especially to the 19th century impressionists and those who were pushing the boundaries of what was and was not "decent" you will see this pose or one similar time and time again. David and Ingres were doing a lot of the same-look at La Grande Odalisque, which was made in 1814-the figure is reclining, but she is giving the same over the shoulder gaze. This gaze is held by the audience, it creates a relationship between art and viewer, there is a purpose to this kind of posing.

Sometimes it's not about being new and original, it's about paying homage to what has come before.

You will find classic composition in a lot of Annie Leibovitz's images, it's just part of being an artist.
